dinner update

For dinner last night Angelina prepared stir fry vegetables with chicken. For dinner the night before she prepared hot dogs with soy beans. What will dinner be like tonight? In the news Iran's dictator says the peace process is a failure. Jonny ready chapter 43 of Isaiah. And now he is going to stretch. Ah much better. Also Jonny had to see to a patient alarm. Earlier today there was a patient alarm going off. Jonny went to see a nurse about it. Finally she turned the damn ringing off. And fortunately no one got hurt. Jonny is up to page 158, chapter twenty five of The Compass of the Soul. For lunch he had a roast beef sandwhich. For lunch yesterday he had a Trader Joe frozen asian meal with chicken. He also had an orange from florida that his aunt sent for Hanukah. Jonny went to bed at 1 AM last night and his arm still hurts. He is feeling very miserable today like who cares kinda attitude. Yesterday he absolutely nothing to do and was wide awake. Today there is much to do and he is tired. Yesterday he read his usual three Jewish blogs.

highlights

As usual a long time has passed since the last blog. Jonny is here in Hotel California. He has upped the stretch meter from 3000/4500 to 1500/3000. Immediately it came on and said time to stretch. Penny is all in a quandry over some request. The velos work is sporadic and Jonny still feels like at the beginning of each day here there is nothing to do. He started reading verse 1 of chapter 42 of Isaiah. He called his Aunt last night. Because she was angry he didn't call over Thanksgiving. Jonny had such a headache on Sunday. Ah time to stretch. Jonny has so much school work to do too. It won't be at least midnight before he gets to sleep. Let us pray for no screwing around on Jonny's part so he is awake and fresh tomorrow. There after a stretch he feels better. Angelina called to complain about her usual long laundry list of complaints. Jonny wrote them down so he can be a good husband and deal with her as if he is listening all the time. Jonny has been reading a good book called the Compass of the Soul, by Sean Russell. He is on page 138 chapter twenty two.

 

Angelina's father took Alberta and Jonny to the Hershey Bears American Hockey League game against Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Also Jonny went to a minyan service Tuesday night when they got to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. On Sunday they visited --- cell phone. Angelina needy Angelina again. Sunday they visited the sick. They all went except for Angelina's step mom, went to see Angelina's Aunt at "the home". As usual it is a depressing place. Earlier in the week they saw a movie. It was the one with Dustin Hoffman in it. It was quite good despite the reviews.

 

So far Jonny has relaxed and let go twice and stretched twice today.

Angelina says she is doing them over winter break. It has been awhile since the last blog. Today Jonny has a meeting with Lea over at Hotel California. Lea is biking there and since Monday is Jonny's day at Hollywood he has to get there somehow too. Rather than tell the plans this will be about the past. Jonny finished the book The Job. It was 466 pages. He'll probably drop it off in the radiation patients only waiting room. Lea gave him two more books to read that he has to return after reading them. They are mystery novels. Jonny just started The Compass of the Soul by Sean Russell. This is book two of the River into Darkness series. Fantasy book. On the movie front Jonny finished the Black Brigade and the Basketball Fix. He started a Rock Hudson war movie. It is about a pilot who accidentally bombed an orphanage in world war two. He then becomes a minister (Hudson) and then decides to enlist in the Korean War. If anything else happened in the last four days oh well.

Lunch out

Angelina authorized a lunch out - yeah. Jonny went with Lea and two other coworkers. Jonny paid for Lea's lunch and the other coworker, she paid for the other coworkers, his lunch. This was because it was his birthday. It was an even $8 each since this was the Thai restaurant's lunch special. Jonny again had coconut milk red curry sauce with meat.  Lea just got back from the library. The rest of the group went back to Hollywood. Jonny has received a lot of work from Hotel California and will have to go back there on Friday. Next Friday there is no work yeah. But it isn't like he work really hard. Yesterday he left at 4:10 and went to his car. Then he parked his car closer and got back in the building. He went in for five minutes and then left early at 4:40. This was to beat the traffic. It takes almost 30 minutes to get to Jonny's house. He is up to page 176 in The Job. He is up to chapter 41 of Isaiah. The bat mitzvah Jonny and Alberta went to a few weeks ago had that chapter as the Haft Torah portion. The Rashi commentary makes it seem there is one of two ways to interpret that section. One way is to think that Abraham and Seth were jealous of one another for their perspective roles in biblical history.

Lea's birthday

Today is Lea's birthday. Angelina recommended taking her out for lunch at Mongolian Barbeque. Lea asked us to take her out to Palio's, Real Seafood, or Seva. Seva is a vegetarian place. They all figured she would get a free lunch. As a matter of fact Real Seafood gave the four of them one free dessert as well. Which of course they wouldn't have gotten if there wasn't a free one. One lady wanted no milk. She had the strawberries and raspberries attached to the chocolate cake slice. It was a very thick chocolate fudge or whatever. Jonny is kinda disgusted because his meal was drowned in Shanghai sauce. It was the Lake Superior Whitefish. But you had to pay an extra 1.95 for the sauce. It was so disgusting. Luckily he got a salad with his meal instead of the cole slaw. The rice was soaked in a very soy saucy brown salty disgusting mess. Oh yeah there was spinach soaked in it too. The reviews of this restaurant are terrrible as well. And over priced. But they had fun celebrating Lea's birthday. Jonny is on page 108 of The Job. He finished the movie The Big Trees last night. Right now he is waiting for Lea to tell him how to write this next part of the hospital charges program. He is converting her program over from VAX to .NET. Also she told the other two ladies at lunch that she was retiring in ONE YEAR. Yikes that means Jonny is making the right choice spending as much time as he can over in Hollywood with Lea instead over in Hotel California with Penny.

The Job

Jonny started a new book called The Job. "Does for ad salesmen what John Grisham's The Firm did for lawyers". Naturally Jonny is excited about this book because his brother is a salesman. Jonny is already on page 67 of this book by Douglas Kennedy. It reminds him of The Auctioneer. Lea wants Jonny to stay here in Hollywood indefinitely. Jonny is concerned that Rob and Penny are going to be upset with his not showing up at Hotel California. Right now Jonny is trying to get some dynamic SQL to work in AES v 10. This feature it turns out is only available in v 12 and up. He finished reading The Messenger Saturday night. He had to stay up until 1AM but it was worth it. Alberta might read that book next so it stays in the family. For the record it was 338 pages. Friday Angelina and Jonny visited a real estate agent. Later Jonny had take out from a Thai restaurant. Friday night the family went out for dinner at a mexican restaurant. Saturday night Lorraine, Alberta and Angelina went to see the locally produced play Annie. Then Jonny stayed home with Jesse and they made a caulk house.

The book is getting exciting.Not much else is happening. Jonny just took a nap. He had a meeting with Lea at Hotel California. He called his brother last night. Now Jonny has to get back to work. Penny emailed with some work for him to do. This morning he helped Lorraine with math homework decimals. The free salad lunch doesn't seem like it was enough food. Penny wants Jonny to work over at Hollywood again Friday because the ceiling fell down. Lea walked back from Hotel California. She stopped at a gift shop and performed the mitzvote of visiting the sick. She arrived back around the same time as Jonny. He returned the parking pass at 1:30. They had parked in the Cancer Center. This brought back many memories of Jesse. Also the DJN wanted to do an article about a Jewish Organization out of Chicago that helped out with Jesse's care. But Angelina said they called at a bad time. She wants to interview a couple of realtors tomorrow and wants Jonny to bring lunch, come to work late so Alberta can get a wart frozen and then miss time at work to meet the realtors. She is pretty unreasonable. Finnally she complained when Jonny took a nap. No need to ask her permission for that.

impeach Bush

Well that was the news headline yesterday. It was more like impeach Cheney.No one else was talking about it. Jonny is up to page 200 of The Messenger. He went to Hollywood so that he could work with Lea today. Jonny stayed up too late watching TV gone without a trace. He just closed his eyes for a minute waiting for 2pm. Yesterday Jonny left work an hour early too. He didn't realize until 11 PM he wanted to do something for school. So he worked on that until 12 and then watched tv. Today he has to pick up Alberta and Lorraine at Hebrew school. There is no car pool today. Jonny is working on c sharp and sybase. Friday Angelina wants to interview another real estate agent. He didn't feel like doing sit-ups last night.There are three jobs for Angelina to apply for at the U. Jonny reserved the parking pass so he and Lea can go over to Hotel California tomorrow for a meeting. The meeting includes free lunch salad. Last night's dinner was stir fry chicken. Tonight's dinner is salmon and prime rib. After reading Aiedel's blog about rare meat Jonny was thinking too. Angelina's father likes well done, Angelina medium well, Jonny's parents rare and Jonny medium rare. Does this have anything to do with political leanings? Left versus right. A sad day for Angelina's father indeed since he is so far dyed in the wool republican.

bored at last

Jonny is here in Hotel California and bored out of his mind. The stretch meter is due up any minute now. He did stretch last night. This has the makings of a long blog not much else to do. Angelina returned the Orek. How dare she. Jonny had to celebrate with two bottles of bliss a Ann Arbor brewing company product. Many moons ago Jonny worked at a company in Ann Arbor that specializes in health care. Legend has it Mr -- stretch time - back now. Another one of those romantic stories. This guy left his high tech job to run a brewing company. There is a restaurant there too. The fries are a bit weird, way too much seasoning. Barf found. But it is interesting hugh demo vats of beer. Angelina found some of their beer in bottles and that is where it ended up in the basement lamenting the loss of the vacuum. Lorraine taughtingly said "Dad your Orek is going bye bye". On the reading front, Jonny has read page 162 of The Messenger. He started an old Kirk Douglas movie last night after sit-ups and stretching, nasal irrigation, neck exercises. Angelina has only called 2 or 3 times already. The movie is Big Trees. It is about red wood trees and the timber industry. Jonny has nothing to do at work so he read three jewish blogs has been following recently. He read chapter 40 of Isaiah. He graded papers. He had lunch. Penny isn't even here so as soon as he finishes this coffee he might take a nap. Maybe he'll play with mapquest or check out aata bus schedules.

2pm

It is 2pm and time to blog. Over the weekend Jonny purchased an Orek. He found out his cousin is in foreclosure. The family went to services. The protestors are still out front after four years. They went in two cars because Angelina went to Hiller's afterwards. Jonny has been working with Lea in C sharp. He watched the movie Carbon Copy over the weekend. Alberta had her first indoor soccer game of the season. The rabbi spoke briefly of the parsha. This week there was no Bar or Bat Mitzvah. There was bagels afterwards. They arrived at 10:30 just in time for the taking out of the Torah. There was a guest rabbi. He was telling his tales from Uganda, and Nigeria. There are many jews of different flavors, colors races. There are some in China, the carribean and there are some in Africa. Some people went to the rabbi's office at 12:30 for a quick shot. He said it was to celebrate the Red Sox victory but really it is a Saturday morning tradition anyway. Finally Jonny is enjoying the book The Messenger and is up to page 136. In the movie Denzel Washington is quite young (1981). Jonny doesn't have much to do over at Hotel California. He tried to call Penny and tell her he was spending the week over at Hollywood but he lost his nerve. Jonny turned over the soil in the garden in the back. He picked some oregano. Jesse called Jonny's parents on the way to Sunday school. But they hung up. They don't like noise. There were five screaming kids in the car. When it was quiet Jesse said "my Dad is here". He said "Hi Mom". He said "did you hear my Dad". She said begrudgingly "I suppose". Jonny applied for three jobs for Angelina from the Sunday paper.

Page 100 is the best part of any book. The Messenger is no exception. Last night Jonny and Angelina fought about taking the kids to Jonny's parents for winter break. No deal is what the end result was. Jonny was pretty upset. His parents are always making him feel guilty too. Tonight the family is going out for dinner for a change of pace. Jonny is downloading a free trial of visual studio. It is taking forever. Jonny took a break and went to Wendy's and to the flu shot study. Tomorrow the family is going to Saturday services. Jonny restarted the download. It is a 3 gb download. Absolutely nothing else is going on. Still no luck getty lysol ready brush refills for less than 6 dollars a tube. Also there is a ton of people in here now. Still no luck getting a headset for the cell phone off ebay either. No Orek vacuum either. This store around here is supposed to have headsets called meijer. It is across the street from home depot and lowes. Rob wants the spreadsheet of the project priorities along with IRB approvals. The only house for sale in Jonny's neighborhood is a bank sale for 154K. Ridiculously low. There is another realtor selling a house on King George who promised to but Jonny's house if he buys hers. Better go call her.

Page 80 of The Messenger. Angelina has a job interview today. Kids enjoyed Halloween. The house is off the market. Jonny is working with Lea to learn C#. Angelina just called and her job interview went well. She doesn't know if she wants to try help you sell dot com or try renting the house.
