Jonny finished reading Wicked and it was 406 pages. Now he is on page 12 of Blood is the Sky. The book is telling how to make a log cabin.

Today Jonny listened to the parsha discussion for Tzav.

His lap top died. So he bought a new one.

Jonny is working on a data warehouse. He is moving data from Sybase to Oracle. One table at a time. The goal is to get 15 tables over there so the data can be queried.

Angelina started working again. She isn't supposed to be driving for another 2 months. She had a physical therapy appointment and it ran over. It will take them 2 hours to complete the initial processing. They only had 1 hour budgeted for this.

Sometimes the time is a lucky time. Hold on Jonny needs to use the bathroom here in Hotel Hilton, then have lunch.

Jonny is up to page 260 of Wicked. The book keeps making some weird twists and turns. It can be very uninteresting.

Earlier today Jonny decided to relax and let go. That is his mediation exercise.

He listened to the Torah chanting for this week's parsha which is Pikudei.

Jonny is programming VB. He just looked up online how to convert this big long if statement with many or's in it to its similar context as the in. In database languages the in statement is easy to use for example: Jonny's mood is in ('Good','Bad','Ugly'). The good, the bad and the ugly. Isn't that some kind of title for a movie?

Well Jonny is getting very thirsty doing all this programming and blogging. He might head on down to the water cooler. Over there the ladies are discussing the main actor to the TV show two and 1/2 men.

Angelina and Jonny have been watching about 2 episodes a night of that show. Unfortunately it got cancelled.

Jonny is programming in ASP.NET. He is debugging the code and hitting some blocks.

Jonny needs to bring in his cell phone charger. It was here at Hotel Hilton and now it is at home. Angelina needed it for her trip to Hotel California.

Angelina had to have surgery. Jonny is finally back at work today.

Jonny read and finished a few books. He read Good People by Markus Sakey author of The Blade Itself. This is crime fiction from the point of view of the bad guys. the book was 326 pages. Next Jonny read Debt of Bones by Terry Goodkind, 89 pages. This was the prequel to the Sword of Truth series. After that he read The Android's Dream. This was a science fiction book and was 396 pages. Now Jonny is on page 3 of Wicked.

MRI on Wednesday

Yes it's true. Angelina had to get an MRI today. Jonny had to take half a day off to hold her hand. And what's worse. They didn't go to Hotel California to get it done. They went to the competition. Well Jonny better get to work now. He has been at The Hotel Hilton for an hour. He made a cup of instant coffee and sent an email to a friend. Then he went to the library to meet a friend that he met on the internet who he know wouldn't show up. But Jonny still got a DVD of two and 1/2 men. Angelina likes that comedy. Jonny got back from the bus ride a short time ago. He was able to be in and out of the libary and back on the next #2 bus, less than 15 minutes later. His coffee was still warm. Lorraine's Bat Mitzvah parsha speech isn't very inspiring. It is all about love thy neighbor. Over the weekend Jonny was playing with his pathetic candle. Today Lorraine got invited to yet another Bat Mitzvah. Jonny finished a book. Patriot Games was 503 pages. He later that day started reading D.A. Willis by Connie Willis. This is a very short book. Angelina is having trouble with her legs. She has numbness and pain in them. The doctor sent her for this emergency test today. Well Jonny had better get busy: going to the bathroom, irrigating hisnose, cleaning the bathroom, watering the plants, relaxing and letting go, taking a nap and touching base with Rob.

Last night Angelina made flat bread for dinner.

Jonny is on page 268 of Patriot Games.

It is a snowy Thursday morning.

Yesterday and Monday Jonny did the religious school pick up.

This afternoon there is a party at the Arbor Brewing Company. It is the teacher that teach the same class as Jonny.

Jonny cleaned his office bathroom.

He bought himself some hanging plant long reach water bottle off the internet.

Jonny went to the library and got a DVD, two and a half men. He and Angelina watched 7 episodes.

Jonny has been feeling sick.

Today at work he was cleaning the database in VASE. Also at work there was no water in Hotel Hilton.

Right now he is listening to some labor music. Wendell and Kristina went to a museum over the weekend. On Sunday Jonny and Jesse called them. They said they bought this labor music and wanted to send it to Jonny. So using his expertise he said you had to send only 3 songs at a time.

Angelina bought tickets to the Chinese dinner at the temple.

Jonny just got back from seeing some of his peeps in the department. They were all too busy with the sugar cookie party. So Jonny took a cookie and went back to the Hotel Hilton. The water is on again. So he brushed and flossed and the irrigated his nose.

Jonny is on page 152 of Patriot Games. He needs to spend more time reading his book and less time playing on the internet. Playing on the internet is kinda like reading, nawh not really.

Lorraine through a fit over the weekend. Angelina and Alberta went shopping.She was babysitting and they left her behind. She is the real beauty queen and felt very slighted.

Jesses and Jonny got haircuts yesterday. Lorraine got bang trim just because.

Last night he barely ate dinner since he was so sick.

Old diary post here. This is for July 16, 1994, even though the link looks like it says 2010. Another glitch in the blogger.

Jonny had a Trader Joe Winter Fest beer last night. Now he feels a little hung over from it.

Jonny is on page 94 of Patriot Games.

This afternoon he has a meeting at the ESNC. In you forgot that stands for extended stay northern california. It sucks because it is cold out. So he has to wait for a shuttle bus.

Today's lunch is part two of the three part turkey sandwich trilogy.

Last night Jonny helped Angelina loosen up her door. They watched Cold Case to celebrate this accomplishment.

This week's parsha is Vayechi.

Jonny has been working with Ubuntu. He was trying to get Jesse to have a computer with internet.

Last week Angelina called on 12/7. She said strawberry's were getting expensive. She needed a good physical therapist. The cord came in the mail. Lorraine had a 1 hour concert. Alberta's practice was over at 5 PM.

Jonny just had lunch a few minutes ago. He is cleaning the VASE database at work. Jonny is up to page 68 of Patriot Games. Over the weekend he watched SNL. Angelina and Jonny watched Law and Order and Criminal Minds.

Jonny helped Lorraine with studying the parsha of ShecLach. This is preparing for her Bat Mitzvah. They talk about Tzit Tzit in this parsha.

How can Jonny get more motivation to work at work? He took a nap and is ready for another one. He doesn't seem to have the stamina he once had.

Today Jonny listened to the parsha vayigash.

Over the weekend Jonny made an awesome bagel sandwich and then he made the same one for his daughter Alberta.

The family has been pretty negligent in lighting candles. They made latkes last night but didn't light them. Also on Sunday Jonny talked to his father. Alberta talked too. Lorraine skipped Sunday school. Jonny did cleaning most of the weekend, using his new hand held steam cleaner. He has been having a good time with linux on the dell laptop.

Jonny is on page 32 of Patriot Games. He read The Hunt For Red October and it was a decent book.

Is it true that Jonny only posts when he finishes a book? Jonny finished a book. He finished reading Night Judgement at Sinos by Jack Higgins. He thought it was a good read. The 289 page book was set in the sea near Greece and Turkey during the 1960's. But since the book was written in the 1970's the author tried to make it seem it was modern times.

Over the weekend before Thanksgiving, Jonny watched a movie. He saw a movie based on a Hemingway book by the same title. The 83 minute movie was called A Farewell to Arms. This is from Jonny's DVD collection. He brought it on the trip.

Right now Jonny is sleeping listening for the second time this week to Mikietz. The Hebrew word for prison is bora. At one point Yosef interrupts paro. This is because he feels he must give G-d credit for the dream interpretation. In the parsha Yosef says you will remember me. His mistake was to not trust in Hashem. It was a small deber. Apparently deber is another word for mistake?

Jonny will be in PA for the next week, not like it makes that much difference. Ah he is feeling a nap coming on, as soon as he finishes this coffee.

Jonny listened to the chanting of the Torah of Vayislach. He also did the quiz again yesterday and got a 7 out of 10.

Jonny finished his book Wikinomics. Also the book was 290 pages. He didn't feel like reading the acknowledgements or the footnotes. But there is a website he might check out at his in-laws.

Last Thursday it was Veteran's Day. Jonny called his mom on their cell phone. Kristina and Wendell share one cell phone. Jonny's dad as it turned out had the day off. But not his mom. Kristina said, "call Dad he's home I'm busy at work". So that is what he did. They made plans for Alberta to come see them in February.

Jonny listened to the parsha of Vayislach two times this week. He took the quiz and got a 7 out of 10 on the first try. He might try again today.

Today Jonny might take a nap. Or Jonny might go to the bar with Penny's data entry person. Ryan had said they could go on Thursday which is today.

He just discovered that he ran out of dental floss yesterday.

Jonny is now on page 286 of Wikinomics. It would be nice if Lorraine would pick out a book. Jesse said he picked out a book. Unfortunately he picked a kid's book, from the Charlie Bone series.

Not much posting here by Jonny. He has been crazy busy at work. He didn't accomplish much. But he did finish a book. Jonny read Rachel & Leah and it was 418 pages and that included an acknowledgement at the end. It also included book club ideas. Jonny found the facebook song. It is embedded below.

He needs to run downstairs and drop off his time sheet, get a fork and recycle some batteries.

This was a depressing weekend. Angelina got no cars to park for the football game over the weekend. It was a good game too. But Jonny slept in bed while his wife watched the game. He fell in and out of consciousness as the score sky rocketed. Angelina had to call her father to ask her the overtime rules work. Thomas told her that they start on the 25 yard line. And that explained the ease at which they scored.

Jonny is up to page 178 of Wikinomics. He is still reading Rachel & Leah. He renewed both books online. They were due November 15 and now they are due December 15. Jonny also returned Drowning Ruth. It is an amazing beautiful day outside.

This week's parsha is Vayeitzei. Yacovmade the maariv prayer. The 12 stones fought to be the one Yacov laid his head on. He slept for the first time in 14 years.

The other depressing thing that happened over the weekend was that Annabella Sciorra, Lyman Ward and the rest of the family will be moving. Lorraine will miss her friend. Jonny and Angelina will also miss Lyman. So many people come and go in people's lives.

The third thing that wasdepressing has already been reveresed. Angelina has discovered that HGTV and the Food Network were taken off her TV. Well they are back now.

Last night he put up a hook for Angelina. Then she asked him for another. Then he cleaned his workspace, where all the tools are kept. It is still a mess but a better mess.

Last night he helped Lorraine with her mystery story. It was supposed to be 1000 words. She wrote 3000 instead.

This week's chumash is Toldos. Avraham went back to Hagar who is now Keturah. Ishmal did teshuvah. This parsha continues where the last one left off. Yitzak also had two children. One was good and one as a rosha. Both Yitzak and Rivkah prayed for them to have childen. Rivkah was so good even though all the people sh grew up with were bad. Hashem listened to Yitzak's prayers because he was the son of a tzadik. Yitzak loves Esau. He know that yacov is the good one. A tzadki had the right to trick a rosha to get the sefer torah back. That is why Yitzak agreed with the trickery of Esau.

It is now 10 AM. Jonny got to work on time. He fell asleep. Then he got up and brushed his teeth and flossed his teeth. Next he irrigated his nose. He put hair gel in his hair. Jonny shaved. Now it is time to clean the VASE database. Jonny puts in requests to the help desk and they change the data. An example is "

Over the weekend Jonny called Kristina. Then after a while he spoke to Wendell. Within minutes Wendell invited Alberta for a December break trip to visit him in Arlington. Of course Jonny was less than enthusiastic regarding the expected turn in the conversation. They haven't spoken in 2 months and boom "when are we seeing our grandkids". The line gets old. Jonny said he would forward on the information.

Immediately Angelina said no.

Jonny is up to page 121 of Wikinomics. He is up to page 93 of Rachel & Leah. Orson Scott Card wrote that book and he is a Mormon. So Jonny is suspicious of how his religious origin will send the book in a non-Jewish direction. So far it isn't much different in style from Marek Halter's Ziporrah Moses's Wife. Jonny discovered that Orson Scott Card wrote a book called Stone Tablets that incorporates the Mormon book of Moses.

Jonny has been extremely sleepy lately. He fell asleep at 9:45 AM today for a short nap.

Angelina was supposed to replace the gas meter today. Unfortunately the gas company who's idea it was to replace it decided oh no that is November 29th.

Jonny tried to call Krisitina and Wendell. He left a voice mail on their cell phone. They are very into Halloween.

Last night Jonny went to a charity event. It was a fundraiser. There was pumpkin carving and a haunted house. Jonny took Jesse, Lorraine and Annabelle. Today Jesse's class is having a Halloween parade. Angelina just called and she is on her way there.

Angelina is still having problems with Windows 7 messing up her class.

In this week's chumash, why did Sara die from this mitzvah? Why did Abram not cry that much? Abram was too old to go and get a wife for Yitzak.

Angelina went to temple on 10/27/2010 to finalize some of the kiddush meal for the Bat Mitzvah for Lorraine. Angelina says she has spent $2000 so far.

Also on 10/27/2010 Angelina called Jonny and reminded him that she was going to help out in Jesse's classroom sometime this week. She says that Babs the dog was waddling.

Later on 10/28/2010 Angelina called Jonny and she was at Trader Joe's buying some food. She got some beer. It was $2 more than the usual beer she bought. Plus she bought some dried fruit for Jonny's oatmeal. She got frozen Mango. All this was just basics for around $100.

There was a robbery at a credit union.

Jonny heard a song on the radio called Shalom Hasdim. Or maybe it was v'lo hasdim.

Today he forgot eye drops. He put hair gel in his hair but his dream is to bring some hair gel to work. He will need some new mustard to put in the work refridgerator.

Angelina called on 10/25/2010. And here is what she said. "The bank is slow." Jonny wrote down that he forgot his chapstick. Later on he wrote down "mortgage". Apparently Angelina was asking about the mortgage and the bank was slow to give her an answer about the mortgage. Then she said "cats are fighting" and she went on to tell Jonny that "dog digging".

Earlier that day Jonny and Angelina went to the credit union. Jonny signed the papers for the new loan. It is $397 per month for 5 years. It will pay off $21,000 in debt.

This week is the parsha chaya sara. Some people say that the akada killed sara. Other questions from this week's reading are, "Why did Eliazer swear instead of yitzak?

Later on Jonny realized that Angelina told him there is wind and trees are falling.

On 10/26/2010 Jonny cleaned his bathroom of Hotel Hilton. But he forgot to put hair gel in his hair before heading to work. Then he realized he needed cleaning supplies. So he wrote a note to the janitor to give him more cleaning supplies.

Also on that day he missed Lorraine's doctor appointment. The appointment was at the Hotel California, so Jonny could have easily gone to it. But the night before Lorraine was crying, "Dad you simply can't go to my appointment, I don't need two moms."

Later that day Angelina called the help desk for the school. The computers for her class were all messed up. The culprit it turns out is Windows 7.

Last night Jonny was supposed to meet Ryan Williams. But Ryan went to the wrong bar. Or you could say Jonny went to the wrong bar. Either way Jonny stayed and waited from 4:15 to 4:45 for Ryan to show up. He read a few pages of Wikinomics.

When Jonny got home he found Lorraine with a hair brush stuck in her hair. Annabella Sciorra and Annabella's mother were there too. They couldn't unstuck the hair. Jonny did it quickly with a screwdriver.

Next Jonny screwed around on the computer. So poor Babs the dog didn't get walked. Then Lorraine worked really hard on making the dinner around when Angelina arrived. She was home late because she was working.

Earlier this morning Kristina Krofft left a message on Jonny's work voice mail. She was reminiscing about the birth of Richard Ziman.

All day Jonny's head has hurt. It is feeling light headed because of lack of sleep.

Jonny listened to the parsha again this week. Vayer Vale Hashem. How do we know Hashem appeared to Avram? Hashem after alov. Hashem gave Avram the Schena. Avram was sick. How did he run out? Arabs why? Any guest is a good guest. Who is lunt? Sara denied laughing. Why did Hashem tell Avram that he was going to destroy Sedom? Amidis Hadin is judgement. Dust and ashes. Ashes because of Nimrod. Dust was never anything. Ashes was once something.

Last night Jesse's bed was not made. But Jonny slept in it anyway. He had to because Jesse ot scared in the middle of the night. Then at 4 AM Jonny had to let the dog out and feed her.

Tuesday night he had to pick Alberta up at a soccer game.

Today Jonny is going to the Red Hawk for some beer. He will leave early for this privilege.

Angelina is still negotiating with the credit union for the debt consolidation loan. The terms are 5.75%, 5 years and 429 per month payments. The rate varies and two debts will be paid off.

Yesterday Jonny listend to the parsha discussion of the week. This week's parsha is vayera. It has to do with and Hashem appeared. In the story Avram is visited by angels while he is recovering from the brit milah. This happened on the third day. His house has four doors. Sara was able to have a baby and so was other children started having the ability to have children.

Jonny pitched the book Drowning Ruth. Now he is on page 15 of Wikinomics. Last night Angelina and Jonny watched Criminal Minds. Earlier Jonny was on the couch falling asleep watching MNF. And the Alberta called. The number shows up on the TV screen. Then Jonny went back to sleep. 20 minutes later, will you go pick her up. She was at the HS watching a varsity soccer game.

Right now Jonny is feeling really sleepy. Babs keeps waking up at 3AM. Jesse wet his bed and that means tons of laundry and making the bed later on tonight.

Jonny posted the following Thursday old diary entry.

Back in 2010 Jonny went to the library. He got three books. One of those books was called Drowning Ruth by Christina Schwarz. What was he thinking? 15 pages into it he decided to bag it. Someone dies and their name begins with the letter R. And even if that isn't what happens. Who cares. So he decided to start another book. Jonny is on page 5. This included the 5 page introduction. He is reading Wikinomics How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything by Don Tapscott Bestselling Author of The Digital Economy and Anthony D. Williams. Now he is on the short subtitles chapter. They asked people to name the subtitle.

There were no unseen Criminal Minds episodes. Last night Jonny and Angelina watched Cold Case instead.

Babs slept in until 7 AM as she was supposed to do.

Jonny is taking a break from the madness.

Earlier today he had Rob's staff meeting. Lea wasn't there. Jonny had to look it up too. He forgot his iron key, but the blog helped recall who she was. Lea wasn't in the more recent fake names post but she was in the 2007 one. Interesting...

Last week Jonny listened to Noach again for the parsha of the week. Here is what he learned the second time around in the same week. Something put the decison for a flood punishment over the top. It was the gisel of stealing. This was because it was the opposite of being good and righteous to people. For some reason Noach was born cirumcised. Even Kosher animals came on the arc. Why is this possible. 7 pairs of the kosher animals were brought and 2 of the not kosher animals. The Torah makes a big distinction between kosher and not kosher. In Hebrew the word for kosher is Tor or literally clean. For not kosher it is Tomay. Yet in this particular parsha the Torah uses the opposite of kosher instead of just saying Tomay or literally dirty. So it is as if the Torah says you will eat clean animals and not eat dirty animals. And in this parsha the Torah says you will save 7 pairs of clean animals and 1 pair of not clean animals. The rabbis attribute this to the harsher version of dirty is saved for Parsha Emor and the less harsh version for instructions to Noach. The harsher version would have been to say you will save 7 pairs of clean animals and 1 pair of dirty animals. Why does it say it that way?

In other news, Michigan lost to Michigan State in a big football game.

Jonny finished a book. Last night he finished The Vendetta Defense. It was 518 pages including acknowledgements at the end.

Jonny and Angelina were just denied a loan this morning. They have too high of a debt to income ration, something like 51 to 28.

Jonny is on page 488 of The Vendetta Defense.

This was probably written last year here it is again. This week is the parsha of Noach. Really Noach should have had the mable on him too. What did Noach do wrong to nme the mable after him? Noach didn't pray for his generation. Compared to other generations he was nothing. Taking care of the animals was Noach's punishment. One time Noach didn't feed the lions at the right time.

Angelina's biggest concern right now is that she isn't spending money on costumes for the kids.

She got Jonny a free oil change. So now the Altima doesn't need an oil change until 103,000 or 12/3. They put 2 months on the sticker or 3750 miles. So realistically the car has about 99,250 miles on it.

Life is good

Life is good but it has been 8 days since Jonny's last blog post.

Today Angelina called Jonny at work. This was no different than any other day. Jonny took notes so he could write about it in his blog.

She will be teaching a class off the main campus. Angelina explained in her latest phone call that she will be checking out how to precisely get to the satelite campus. This will happen when she gets her haircut near the off campus location.

Today Angelina is working in Brighton as a clerk. So Angelina put Jonny in charge of the kids. After work he has to buy dinner and get Jesse to do his homework.

Angelina also complained about the shower caddy. She said it isn't sticking to the wall as it is supposed to do.

As a good Jew Jonny is quite annoyed at all these church adds running around. They are on billboards and city buses too. If you seen them you would know they are the ones talking about lying.

Jonny spent 32 minutes talking with Kristina today. He felt guilty it had been 10 days since his last conversation with his mother. VASE is completely stuck. Jonny is up to page 144 of The Vendetta Defense. Last night he did his abs exercises. They had chicken on the grill. Jonny has been training this new employee all week. Now his back hurts. Yesterday he listened to Vzot Haberach. Moses buried himself. This is the last parsha of the year. Wendell is making stuffed cabbages for Simchat Torah. It is traditional because they look like little Torahs.

Jonny has been training Penny's new employee. He is seriously considering drowning his sorrows at a bar this afternoon. Jonny is really pretty happy now. Over the weekend he got a Yom Kippur surprise. Jonny's encounter with a stranger wielding a metal detector as any good elderly hobbyist prospector stranger turned out fortuitous. The man found Jonny's long lost wedding ring. 6 months ago he asked him if he could help find it. The man agreed to look for Jonny's "family heirloom" as soon as he could. This week he did. With a couple of back and forth emails the ring was found. Jonny is reading a new book called The Vendetta Defense. He is on page 100 now. Today was a messed up day at work and Jonny really wants to take a nap. He had a meeting in the morning. Penny Fuller was there representing the department, so why did he have to go to it? After the meeting he gave Rob Schneider a call. This was because he is Jonny's boss.

Yesterday Jonny finished a book. He finished The Great Divide. It was 330 pages. Lorraine picked him out a new book. Jonny is now reading The Vendetta Defense. It is by the same author of Death In A Strange Country. That book was about Venice. The author's name is Lisa Scottlin. That might not be the right spelling. Jonny is too lazy to look it up. It is taking an act of a miracle to write this blog.

The other reason to call Rob is because of the party. The meeting was about getting rid of VASE. Jonny has the backup spreasheet open. But he was too lazy to plug in the iron key. He isn't too lazy to make paragraphs. But he won't reorganize them, because he wants to keep the flow of the time line of the free flowing thoughts.

The party was a brunch outside of Death Valley. There at the party Jonny saw in passing Matthew Lillard and Fisher Stevens. Fisher was wearing his usual nascar jacket. Matthew was wearing his usual I'm 50 something and life is hard scowl. Also from the old gang Jonny got a big hug and awkward chat afterwards with Melissa Barker. She had 1 more child than Jonny did to catch up on. Her oldest is now a freshman in college. While Alberta is a freshman in high school. Jonny talked to Lea Thompson at great length about bicycle riding. His mentor was impressed with his adventures in the Bandameer Park trails and pulling Jesse the 9 year old 8 miles.

The only other thing of note is that Angelina is thinking about making Kreplach. Jonny found out about a new holiday. Something to lookup called Rabana Raba or something like that. Purim, Yom Kippur and this third holiday are the times to eat the delicacy. Angelina bought a couple of knishes for the occasion as well. They will try to get there early so as not to sit in the back of the building. Look in this blog next week for the review of the sermon given tonight.

Same stuff different day. Last night no TV was watched with Angelina and Jonny. Today has been rainy and nasty all day. Jonny took 6 motrin and his stomach hurts. His headache never went away either. He doesn't have much to do at work either. Right now he is finding missing birthdates for patients in the database. No one cares what he does really. Jonny won't be able to do the 6 minute abs exercises Friday since it is a holiday.

Not much has happened since Tuesday. Jonny is all alone in the office. Beverly Polcyn is working in a different office and has been for a month now. Perhaps she doesn't like this office in the Hotel Hilton. In the courtyard of the Hotel California they are playing loud music and have done so for the last 2 hours. It is hideous. Songs like Solid as a rock and the Cupid Shuffle. Jonny is tired of it. He isn't planning on getting fat and going to their Ice Cream Social. So now he does 6 minute abs workouts everynight, right before he and Angelina watched Criminal Minds last night. Stop in the Name of love. Another song they are playing. Before that was Chicago song without the words. Loud enough to hear 6 floors up. Jonny is up to page 220 of The Great Divide. Oh wait the song is stop for your love or something like that. Today Jonny had a sandwich with kosher salami on it. For breakfast he had the last of the honey cake. Today he rode the bus to work and took Lorraine and an neighbor kid to the middle school. Later this morning he faxed some papers for Angelina.

It is time for another way back post here. Jonny did relax and let go back then too. Today at work he had to carefully handle the breasts again. Ha ha. That was a funny joke. Last night Jonny fell asleep on the couch watching football. There was so much hype too. This was because the game was delayed by 15 minutes for lightning. Jonny is on page 158 of The Great Divide. Tonight is Jesse's back to school night. Last night Angelina met Alberta's teachers. Earlier today Jonny had a muscle spasm and that was in the you know where area. It seems to have faded away partly and been replaced by a bad backache. Perhaps Jonny needs to try relax and let go. He rode his bike to work today.

This weekend coming up is Yom Kippur. So there is no chumash to study again this week. It is almost Sim Chat Torah. That is the holiday to celebrate the end of the Torah reading cycle. Today Jonny took some honey cake with him for breakfast to work. He is now up to page 100of a very exciting book that Lorraine picked out. Alberta had a three game, two day tournament for soccer in Lansing. Jesse is still fighting reading. Angelina hurt her toe on all the hoarded stuff on the stairs. And therefore she called in sick and didn't work for the flu clinic over the weekend. Jonny is reading The Great Divide by Frank M. Robinson and John F. Levin. Some of the grass that Jesse and Jonny planted a week ago started to grow this weekend. The reason Jonny had honey cake is because it is a sweet new year. The book is about civil war in the United States. The war is caused between the West and the East fighting over oil. It has the same style of horror and politics as Deception Point. For lunch today Jonny had a cornbeef sandwich on rye. Angelina and Jonny watched an episode of Criminal Minds last night that they hadn't seen before. They also watched and episode they had seen before.

Labor day weekend is coming up. That means Margo Winkler's Bat Mitzvah is tomorrow.

Jonny's up to page 522 of Exodus. He is kinda dragging his feet on finishing it. He and Jesse were sitting on the couch reading their respective books.

Yesterday Alberta went to the airport for her trip. Luckily hurricane Earl wasn't a factor. If Angelina had her way she would have canceled the trip. So Jonny had to leave work early and bike home in the rain to take her.

Angelina just called to remind Jonny that the Friday before a holiday weekend he is supposed to leave early.

Earlier today he listened to Torah chanting of the two parsha's Nitzavim and Vayelech. He found the name of really cool song they play on gglz called Yolanda be cool and D CUP We no longer speak Americano. It has a catchy beat and the video is cute.

Lorraine promises to pick out Jonny a new book from his library tonight.

Today when Jonny was walking his dog he saw Steve Guttenberg. Now it is time to update the names post to include Steve. In case that doesn't happen until Tuesday, Steve is Zsa Zsa's husband. Jonny was walking past the dry cleaner's and Steve was walking into it with a laundry basket of stuff.

Today Jonny listened to Nitzavim parsha.

Tomorrow Alberta is going to visit Kristina and Wendell. Hopefully Angelina will swallow her pride and take her to the airport. She is a little bit upset with her teenage behavior.

Last night there was seldom a short break in the complaining about Alberta. Angelina took a break from her yelling at Alberta to watch Criminal Minds with Jonny.

Jonny and Jesse grew grass over the weekend. They did a little tree trimming prior to the grass planting. This was accomplished via the long handled expandable trimmer. It was done only until the compost bin was filled to capacity. Also over the weekend father and son went to Lowes to buy a belt for the mower. They begged Angelina to let them buy a fire pit. But alas the allocation of funds was forbidden. Lowes was letting the fire pit go for a pittance $79.

Jonny is closing in on the end of Exodus. He is on page 484. He wanted to finish watching the movie with Alberta last night but there wasn't enough time to do everything.

Jonny wrote another old diary post here. Shoot he did it again. The post options got screwed up. Either way this is a musing of Jonny's attempt at finishing his Master's degree, back in July of 1994. Angelina was upset because the school was screwing them over and making them pay every semester until the degree was finished. Jonny ended up switching advisors. The department chair became his advisor. Jonny finally finished up the degree in October of 1994. It was an abbreviated high speed thesis on ADA.

Jonny took a break before lunch and went to see Rob. Rob gave Jonny a raise. He now makes 3%more than last year. Right now he is listening to the parsha Vayelech. Jonny is up to page 444 of Exodus. Yesterday Jonny listened to Nitzavim. He rode his bike to work today.

Hi all Jonny is back from vacation in Boyne Mountain. He should be working but might as well be blogging. Could be worse, he could be sleeping now. There are a ton of messages and stuff to handle. It is really hot today. Jonny just fixed the posting date options on the last link to old diary. The link is right but the posted date was wrong it has been fixed to 7/11/1994 as it should be. Last week since Jonny was on vacation he missed the weekly parsha. It is possible that every year he misses this parsha. Today it won't be possible for Jonny to blog at 2 oclock. That is because there is a mandatory meeting on the epic changes to come here at work for the next ten years. That sounds epic. Beverly Polcyn wasn't here all week. Jonny left her a note to water his plants and the note sat there on her keyboard all week.

Here is a link to an old diary entry. Jonny talks about Jack Gilford. Jack was a character who was doing all the latest stuff. He was into LANs and internet. They went to the Greatful Dead concert. He gave Jonny his dog Lucy. Jonny just updated the fake names to include Ron Howard and Jack Gilford as his coworkers in his first job in 1990. He also updated it to include a section for neighbors from 1993.

Jonny doesn't feel so good today. Maybe he has an ear infection.

Jonny's officemate Beverly is working in a different office. So it is quite dead in there. Jonny just cleaned the bathroom. He didn't ride his bike to work today. That is because he took Lorraine to the first day of art camp. Angelina took Jesse to his ultrasound. Zsa Zsa accompanied her. Angelina paid her back buying her a cup of coffee. Wendell told Alberta she could go to his beach house on Labor Day weekend. And Angelina said fine but first she has to clean her room. Yesterday Jesse and Jonny went for a bike ride. They went about 5 miles with the trailer bike. Jonny has been begging for that hitch for 8 months. Now they have it and it hasn't been used once. They will use it for the their up north vacation to Boyne. Jonny hasn't been reading much. His last book was Critical Care. It was kinda gross. Before that was Exodus and he didn't finish it. Jonny reserved it from the library. He also can get $7.99 off a book at Nicola's bookstore if he so chooses to do that. They send that coupon once a summer as a birthday present. Jonny has redeemed two books that way so far. Over the weekend he watched some TV. He and his wife watched several Criminal Minds episodes. They are so graphic, sometimes they have to fast forward past the gross parts. This week the parsha is Ki Sese.

Jonny has created another link to an old diary entry. Back then there was another story to compete with Lowe's and Home Depot. It was called Builder's Square. He was also crying over not being able to go to the Pink Floyd concert tour.

Right now Jonny is watching the rain while working.

There is a movie Scream 4 being filmed right along Jonny's bike route that he takes to and from work. He got stuck in it and watch one scene being filmed live.

Kristina sent her pictures from the weekend. They looked great.

This week's parsha is Shoftim. And that word is derived from the Hebrew word for Judges.

Babs the dog went to the vet today. They said she needs to lose some serious weight.

Jonny and Jesse have returned from the their beach trip to see Kristina and Wendell. The trip was fun. They played catch with a baseball and softball. Jesse played with his DSI too. They played frisbee. They watched DVDs: Incredibles, Squekwell and Bolt. Kristina really liked Bolt. She made baked zitti. Wendell made dill flavored lox and chocolate brownie creation. They brought some back for Angelina. They went to the ocean at night and Jesse got a light that they brought back on the plane. Also they went to the beach during the day and played in the sand and cooled off in the waves. The waves were rough. Also Wendell BBQ chicken called beer can chicken. He also made BBQ zucchini. Jonny's parents took them for a bike ride and to the pool. Another adventure was kayaki. Also another adventure was fishing. Wendell bought them a tee-shirt and a sweat shirt to take home. They brought back some Delaware peaches. They went out for lunch to dumsers. They went out to dinner at baja's. They also had mango, corn, pancakes, french toast, watermellon, green beans, carrots, brisket and knishes. Kristina got the Jewish food made from potatoes from a store called Harris Teeter. The workers answering the phone at that store had never heard of that particular food so they didn't even know they sold it.Kristina made smoothies. Kristina bought Jesse a game for his DSI, Mario Cart.

Today Jonny feels like he has an ear infection. He doesn't want anything to jeopardize the trip. Alberta took Exodus with her. Jonny has to do grades before he leaves. He is listening to piano music right now.

In addition the fake names post was updated to include the background on Hume Cronyn and Gwen Verdon the people who helped Jonny do some painting in 1994. They weren't Jewish and didn't mind working on Shabbat. Back then Jonny didnt either. Now he still has no choice most of the time. Just this blog keeps the Sabbath, it is a Jewish blog after all.

Last night Angelina and Jonny watched Criminal Minds. Later Jonny watched Scrubs. he slept badly. He had weird dreams about baseball, hockey and legendary imaginary trips to sporting events.

This week feels like a short week. That is because Jonny is going on a beach vacation. He and his son Jesse are going to his parent's beach house. It will be a lot of fun.

Last week's parsh was Eikev. That parsha has the shma prayer in it. This week is the parsa of Re'eh.

Jonny finished Jericoh's Road. It was 288 pages. He is on page 324 of Exodus. Alberta was reading it at the same time. The two of them also started watching the movie.

Jonny watched some Scrubs. Angelina and Jesse watched Criminal Minds.

Jesse got a DSI for his birthday. He is extremely happy.

Lorraine went to camp. Over the weekend the family drove 4 hours each way. They toured the camp and dropped her off. Jonny and Jesse played catch with a baseball.

As usual Jonny is mighty busy at work.

This week is the parsha of Eikev. Last week was Va'etchanan.

As a good Jew Jonny watched part of the movie Exodus. He is also reading the book that goes with said movie. Last night Jonny dropped Alberta off at the JCC so she could attend an annual Ann Arbor event including Israeli scouts.

Jonny finished a book. More like it was a book on tape. More like it was a book on CD. The book was unlike any other John Grisham books. It wasn't about lawyers and it wasn't set in Tennessee or New Orleans or some place south. The book was called Playing for Pizza. As usual it is time to look up the AMAZON results for the said book.

In other movie news Jonny watched the movie The Conflict. It was not a Jewish movie.

Jonny painted the side of the house. This was because the fish burned. The burnt fish put soot from the grill on the siding. The fish got burnt because Angelina was depressed about not getting any classes to teach in the Fall. So they burnt the fish by mistake, they got distracted.

Over the weekend Alberta went to a two day sleepover. She called it a Shabbaton. Right before he took her they almost lost power. There have been a lot of storms this month.

Well back to work even though it is late.

Jonny hasn't written in a while so he needs to catch the audience back up.

Today he continued the old diary entry. Click here to see about July 8, 1994. He was angry with Angelina and over worked with chores. It is an exciting time to write about since it is the same time of year. And finally one theme continues on to this day -- painting.

Jonny has a limited Jewish identity now and in the past. Now he has a daughter who is 14. They were pretty close to trying to conceive her when the diary was being written. Alberta will turn 15 this winter and was born in the December of 1995.

Jonny had a pretty unmemorable birthday experience this weekend turning 42. He is just happy enough for his birthday present received in January. The lasik eye surgery was a gift enough for the whole year.

Jesse still felt it best to give his father a present. Jesse picked out a book at the library and waited until Jonny's birthday to present him with Jericho's Road by Elmer Kelton, yes a Western. Jonny reads all genres.

He finished watching the movie The Proposal. He also watched some Scrubs over the weekend.

And finally Wendell bought the plane tickets. Kristina helped with the purchase. Jonny and Jesse will be going to the beach August 5 to August 8. Yipee for them.

North of Nowhere, 322 pages. That was an awesome book says Jonny. This was the 4th book in the Alex McKnight series by Steve Hamilton. Jonny has started Exodus by Leon Uris. This is truly a Jewish book. Jonny is listening to the Chumash. This week there is a double portion of Mattos and Masei.

Yesterday Jonny, Rob and another guy had a nasty meeting with Penny.

Jonny is still waiting for Jesse's and his trip to see his parents to be finalized. Kristina and Wendell are on vacation. So they can't purchase the tickets now.

Jonny watch a couple of Srubs episodes with Alberta late last night. Today he listened to the parsha Pinchas. This is the famous parsha where the Jew named Pinchas decides to take a spear and kill a sinner. He kills two people while they are in the middle of having sex or as the narrator calls it in Hebrew "snoose".

Jonny was walking his new dog Babs on Sunday. He was at the corner of Stadium and Q street. A loud screeching came from a car heading East on Stadium. The car left behind a large piece of metal. Jonny flagged down the next car. He grabbed the metal and then that was it.

Jonny watched A Walk In the Clouds, movie. It was a typical romantic movie.

He also watched two episodes of Crimina Minds with Angelina Saturday night, one Sunday and one Monday.

Still no finalization on the beach trip.

Lucy the dog is no longer alive. She was put to sleep Friay June 25 at 1PM. April 1, 1993 to June 25, 2010, is a long, long life for a 30 pound, runt of 10 liter of mixed pure blad black labs and something else causing her to have a terrier like look.

Jonny finished Deception Point. He also finished The Cardturner. He looked up the reviews on AMAZON for The Cardturner and they were very good. Jonny thought Deception Point was even better.

Jonny still hasn't gotten approval from Angelina for a beach trip. Below is some emails from Kristina. She lays it on thick.

As you try to work out which weekend to come visit us, consider having the whole family come to the beach for a week long vacation after all camp and summer classes are done, but before the fall semester starts. We could join you at Bethany on the weekend, leaving everyone a chance to enjoy different activities.

Hi Mom,
I think at some point in the future we might consider a week long trip to your beach house as it is a very generous offer. This year will be extremely difficult if not impossible to find that week. Maybe next year.

In the 11 years we have lived here I think you and your family has maybe visited us once. It's easy to say "next year". but I wonder if it will ever be.

Father's Day is coming up soon. Jonny wishes he could give Wendell a present that he was planning a beach trip with him.

Right now outside the Hotel they are blasting music in the courtyard.

Jonny is on page 400 of Deception Point by Dan Brown.

Angelina purchased a half case of Corona in bottles and a case of Labatt Blue Light in cans. All the Labatt is in the refridgerator. Jonny did make the Spanish fly drink one night. It is no fun for him to drink alone.

In the parsha this week is the story of the Red Heffer. It is a mysterious sacrifice that is no longer practiced today. The moral implications are that sometimes a mitzvah is performed because it is a mitzvah and not because it does anyone any good.

Jonny had a day off on Wednesday. On his day off he went and got a hitch for his minivan from the hitchhouse in Livonia. This cost $165 plus tax. They also charged $60 for installation. In addition there was a $5 off coupon.

Yesterday blogger wasn't working.

Last week was the parsha of Shelach. Some pronounce it Shlach lax ha. This was Alberta's parsha two years ago and will be Lorraine's parsha in one year. The Jewish calendar lines up differently then the English calendar at times.

Someone just sent Jonny a message about VASE. They lost their e-signature. He will undoubtedly have to reset their password for them. The instructions inside the web-based product are poorly worded and misleading. Combine that with not so bright users and bam you get an administration of a website nightmare.

On 6/2 Jonny had a migraine. Angelina had plenty of household problems.

In the parsha Shelach one Miragle per Shayved was selected. If you didn't know it the way Grossman says it. Then the words are Hebrew words. Miragle means spy. Shayved means tribe. The problem was the Miraglin (the plural of the word spy) committed Loshen Hora against Yisrael. That means they gossiped. You see we learn this because the Miraglin learned nothing from Miriam's Avayra. Or maybe the Nassim were afraid of losing Koved. Avayra from the context means something like a sin. But the word for that is Chet.

The VASE user just emailed that they are all set now. Hopefully Jonny doesn't get another email saying no they are not all set. Oh well. Moving on.

Koved means honor and Nassim means the plural of leader. The name of the parsha means send if you want to send. Two of the Miraglin were different from the group. Jonny doesn't rememer much more than that since it is now a new week. Caleb Davened to be part of the group. Yoshua also wanted to not be grouped with the evil group. So he took a different strategy, he spoke to Moshe directly. Caleb tried to take inspiraton by praying at the Pirkot Averos or loosely translated the fathers gravesite. There is a place where, Adam, Eve, Abraham, Sarah, Issac, Jacob, Joseph and one other were buried. That would be a great place to take inspiration from previous generations.

This week's parsha is Korach. Korach stood up to Moshe. He wanted Koved. But he was wrong. He was very convincing and got many followers.

Jonny got his Visual Studio working again yesterday. Well Don Ameche got it working. On Friday Don installed Data Direct 3.0 instead of 3.1. Jonny needed both verions. For the reason, the story is too long and boring. Well that hosed up Visual Studio's ability to see SQL-SERVER or and database. The programs still worked, but Jonny wants to manually edit the data. Another long story.

Out of the blue Melissa Barker emailed Jonny. Jonny wonders what she wants. He just sent her an email. She works in the Bee Hive and worked at the insurance company too. They worked together for 10 years.

Korach said his piece then did not wait to hear what Moshe had to say.

Jonny has a headache. He has been trying all day to get Visual Studio to see the SQL SERVER databases. But to no avail. So now he is working in VASE and it will time out soon. The good news is he got his performance evaluation information to Rob yesterday. Rob returned the favor by sending out an email to the group reminding them that the packet is due Thursday. Ahh no timeout so back to database cleanup. Someone had put in a date of 003/26 instead of 03/26. That threw the ODBC data warehouse access to Oracle connection way off.

Jonny has been real sick the past 6 days. He hasn't listened to the parsha of the week yet either. But today is really the first day of a short work week. And Jonny celebrated that Memorial Day Holiday by a trip to the liquor store. Lorraine and Jesse accompanied their father when he racked up a $55 purchase. Lorraine got a sandwich for $5.99. Jonny got a $6 bottle of E&J brandy for his cold. Angelina agreed that he could buy the ingredients all of them for the Spanish Fly drink. This was from a recipe on a shot glass they kept in the living room, with their rather extensive collection of shot glasses. Ah the blog entry wouldn't be complete without an interuption by an Angelina phone call. Right now Jonny is trying to fix his Visual Studio. The SQL Server connection to the database isn't working in the server explorer window of VS. This is mostly likely fixed by running maintenance. So he is running maintenance. In other news Lorraine broke her wrist. She came back from the orthopedic appointment today. Jonny isn't reading any more books at this moment. He is waiting for his daughter to pick one. Or he might check his Jewish shelf and read one of those books.

Jonny fell asleep at work again today. It was supposed to be a short siesta.

This morning he arrived at 9 AM. At 9:15 he looked into emails pertaining to the VASE governor's meeting. 9:30 emails about meetings for the double entry of data into VASE and another system for record and verify. 9:45 was testing the VASE demographics automation. 10:00 found Jonny working on the same thing.

Over the weekend Jonny finished a book. He finished reading 355 pages of No Man's Dog. Also he went to Bay City for a soccer game. That was a 1 hour and 40 minute drive. Today he listened to the parsha Beha'aloscha. His compost bin is in full glory. Jonny's parents calle over the weekend. Jesse spoke with them for about 2 minutes before the phone call got yanked away by circumstances of the day. Jonny took a nap as soon as he got to Bay City. He had to drive 5 girls. They watched DVD's both ways. Jonny had a muscle spasm you don't want to know where. A lady in the car next to him slammed her door into his at 3 minutes to game time and woke him up. Jonny didn't need sun screen at the game. But he did over the weekend when the family did some planting. They planted broccoli, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, marigolds, various flowers. Last night Jonny helped Lorraine with homework. Last night Jonny watched some of the last Saturday Night Live for the season.

At 10:15 Jonny did the same thing he did at 10. At 10:30 he had had enough. So he walked down stairs to see Rob. He stayed there a brief 30 minutes. At 11 he relaxed and let go. 11:15 AM Jonny worked on his evaluation. Then he had lunch, then watered the plants and by 12:15 he was past out.

Jesse gave Jonny a book from his collection. This won't take long, it is a kid book. The Secrets of Droon Voyagers of the Silber Sand. A thrilling journey into Droon's Past by Tony Abbott.

Tomorrow is the Bike Rally. Jonny and Jesse are planning to go. First they will bike at 7:15 AM to the bike shop on 1200 Packard. From there a whole group will ride down Main Street to the Farmer's Market. Once there, there is free food and free coffee. The mayor will be giving a speech. There is prizes given out. Also the bike choir will play.

Jonny is listening to Naso parsha.

He is working on so many projects at work. In addition, the self-evaluations are due June 2.

Jonny fell asleep watching the Tigers play last night with a container of ranch flavored pita chips by his side. He wanted to wait for the commercial to eat them so the noise wouldn't be too loud. Next he woke up at 1AM when it was over. He started watching at 11:30 when it was supposed to be 10-1AM. It lived up to the schedule. The 11 oclock news man said the game was tied 0-0 in the 7th inning. Jonny tuned in and within 5 minutes the Detroit team got a Home run. Then the opponent team pulled their pitcher out. He was sick with the flu.

Jonny took a nap today. His headache was so intense.

He went to the Q street book club meeting. They were discussing The Count of Monty Christo. The wine gave Jonny a hang over the next morning. He kept thinking all week the book was called The Count Monty Christo of Monte Carlo. But that wasn't really the title.

Jonny was checking if VASE was running this morning. So that meant a lot of data entry. The system was running fine then it slowed down. Jonny informed tech support. He is doing this all to help the temp who we will call Gwen Verdon. Jonny had better watch some more recent movies than Cocoon. This way he can get some other actors.

Jonny found a ring at work. It is a mesh like gray silver ring, just his size. It was just sitting there in the kitchen. The other people on his floor of Hotel Hilton said to just take it.

He rode his bike today. First he had to ride with Jesse to his elementary school. Jesse's bike had a flat tire. Angelina is going to take care of that. This made Jonny really late for work.

Jonny is up to page 452 of To Say Nothing of the Dog. It is almost over and as usual, Jonny is relieved. It was only mildly entertaining. All this searching for the bishop's bird stump in the cathedral of coventry and time traveling from Oxford was so strange. Now No Man's Dog is written by a man and just exudes testosterone. It is a nice book and turn well. Jonny is on page 253. Angelina renewed it. That means Jonny is easily into the third week.

Over the weekend Jonny gave Wendell a call. Jesse was having a swim lesson. He told his father that he was spending time with his son. Wendell liked hearing that. Really though Mr Pierce only cares about one thing. "When is Jonny coming to visit? Will he be bringing Jesse? Can he bring one of the girls too?"

VASE is running slow. The new temp just emailed Jonny and asked if he was experiencing slowness too. But Jonny has been busy programming in ASP.NET.

Also over the weekend he put some varnish on the railing. It required two coats. This weekend he will probably put on a third coat.

Jonny is still reading his two books. Page 424 of To Say Nothing of the Dog. Page 236 of No Man's Dog.

Wendell was telling Jonny about his vacation. They went to a super huge bar. They had an actual bull riding area. So Jonny volunteered that in his book, there is a bull dog.

Jonny hasn't been too productive. So he figured might as well blog. He created a new character today. This is the character of Don Ameche. Easy to spell. He is from the movie Cocoon 1985. But in this story Don works with Jonny. He sets up the networks. The fake names page has been updated to include, Rob, Lea and Don. Instead of working directly for the Hotel California they work for the IT department. So technically they work for CHIT. The hospital is ACHO, you know Ann Arbor California Hotel. Ahh too much CHIT CHAT. HA HA.

Jonny contacted his mento Lea for help with ASP.NET. But her advice isn't working.

Today at work they had cinco de mayo celebration. So Jonny didn't have to bring a lunch. He had a couple of tacos, ground meat, beans, rice, chips, salsa and weird green juice in a slushy form. It was an attempt to make a virgin Margarita.

Jonny is up to page 294 of To Say Nothing Of the Dog. He is up to page 170 f No Man's Dog. This book just took a weird turn. The character's goose was cooked and he got out..

Jonny is tired. And he is doing everything he can to fight the need for sleep.

He is listening to the parsha again. His officemate has stepped out. The headphones were giving him a muscle spasm in his ear. Jonny doesn't want to subject her to listening to the parsha. On Friday's he plays the chanting version of the Torah and doesn't feel bad about that.

Jonny feels pretty good. His grass is really starting to grow.

The network guys want him to make a SQL-SERVER database using Visual Studio .NET. Right now he is deleting some duplicate records and filing emails.

He rode his bike today. There is construction so he has to take some kind of detour.

Jonny took a pre-lunch nap. At this moment his officemate has gone off to a meeting. He is busy trying to get his ASP.NET program to go up a level. Everything else in his work an personal life is in turmoil. Last night Angelina was tired so she retired early. Of course Jonny used the opportunity to relax and stay up late. He did work on school work last night so the break was deserved. He is getting sleepy just now thinking of it. Jonny was awakened at noon to Angelina's cell phone call. She got the Black Nissan Altima out of bondage for a mere $882. Jonny was afraid last night that his favorite Scrubs episode would be erased soon. This was justified because AT&T U-verse said it was about to be erased. So he watched SNL which was in the same situation. He stopped at 11 and didn't finish. He did do stretching, hand weights and situps at the first act. Then he realized it was the song Tick Tock. After that he turned off the TV. So he is three days in a row of doing stretching, hand weights and situps while watching TV. That is impressive. After work he had part 2 of the 6 part bud-lite lime outrageously priced $7.99 beer. The family prepared hamburgers on the gas grill. Jonny listened to the parsha today. Jesse had his appointment and everything is fine. He needs to up his miralax. Angelina lowered it and his system got all backed up.

Jonny listened to the parsha of Bechukotai and then listened for the second time this week to the parsha of Behar. His program is giving him fits so he turned it off at the halfway point. He learned that some people repent on Yom Kippur and then commit the same sin later in the year. There are 5 places where Yacov is written with a vov. Safer Vayigrash is it's own book. Some people have that theory.

The network people are bugging him for a .NET solution to their forms based authentication problem of sharepoint. Jonny has no idea how to do that. He has a plan to get them to do it and to stop bugging him to do something that only they know how to do.

Jonny was too tired to blog today. So he took a nap instead. He should be using twitter but he forgot his password. Angelina is bringing him down. They watched the Cold Case season finale last night together. She is complaining about the lack of health insurance coverage. They have coverage but not for a well visit lab test. The cost will be $275. Also sick things costing money is going to be the cost of fixing Jonny's car. It needs a whole bunch of work. Angelina got a loaner car.

Jonny has to start working on the new semester already.

Angelina is going to get Jesse an x-ray for his stomach. He is full of shit. But it is better to verify that then to not know.

A lot has happened in the boring Mid-west world of Jonny Lee Miller since Thursday. On Friday he rode his bicyle about 15 miles. Over the weekend he bicycled with Jesse to Jesse's swim lessons. Also over the weekend he watched Alberta's soccer game. Jonny took a short nap in the car right before the game started. He has been reading his books. He is on page 115 of No Man's Dog. The just said the title of the book in conversation on page 115. Jonny is up to page 252 of To Say Nothing of the Dog. Jesse had science olympics over the weekend too. Alberta had two soccer games. Lorraine did some babysitting. Angelina grilled fish on the gas grill. Jonny didn't go to services. Jesse didn't go to his soccer game, it was cancelled on account of a super thunder storm. Angelina and Jonny watched Criminal Minds and Cold Case over the weekend.

This week's parsha is a double. The parsha is Behar and Bchukotai. Jonny listened to Behar. Lag B'Omer is coming up is what he got out of that. People couldn't bring the carbon pesach today because they had a mace. They complained to Moshe. They are supposed to rest after the 7th year of planting.

Angelina called about the car. She is gonna get her Daddy to pay for it. Something close to $1000 for brakes, tires, oil change and a rachet out of place on the under body. The hitch might have to wait as that is another expenditure.

Lorraine went to a birthday party at the bowling alley which is now smoke free. It is a miracle from Hashem. Jonny never would have believed that the bowling alley would be smoke-free.

It is almost 2 PM and Jonny was very sleepy. So he took a break and wrote this blog today. He rode his bicyle to work today too.

Jonny started a new book No Man's Dog A detective Sergeant Mulheisen Mystery by Jon A. Jackson. The good thing Jonny found after 5 pages is that the book is set in Detroit suburbs. Also the main character's mother is an elderly environmentalist. She enjoys bird watching. Jonny is now on page 11 of that book. He is on page 217 of To say Nothing of the Dog.

Today Jonny listened to half of the parsha Emor. Somehow the navigation bar disappeared in access. He is trying to get the gridview to remember the scroll position. He discovered that if he sets the focus to a button on the page then the gridview scrolls back up to the top. So it is looking more and more like a javascript solution might be needed to force the scroll back down. It is so bizarre the way this asp.net works. Jonny forgot his book To Say Nothing of the Dog again. He rode his bike again. Lorraine has an appointment today. Angelina called and is having some kind of Davis Vision insurance problem at Hotel California. Of course the problem isn't in the hotel proper but in the eye section. So far this excitement of checking web page after web page of technical documentation has kept Jonny awake.

Here in Hotel California, Penny Fuller's people are somewhat on medical leave. In specific, Dabney Coleman is on medical leave. A pile of work that Dabney had on his desk dating back to January wasn't completed. Penny asked Jonn to look into how much was completed. It is looking more and more like none of it was completed.

Jonny forgot to bring his book To Say Nothing of the Dog to work. He rode his bike to work today. Last night he fixed his shed. The doors weren't sliding. This was because the wood was too long on the floor. It got in the way of the movement of the doors. Last night Jonny and Angelina watched Criminal Minds.

Over the weekend Jonny was able to go to the book club. He caught the last 20 minutes of the discussion of The Zookeeper's Wife. The group will be voting on the next book. Jonny is on page 185 of To Say Nothing of the Dog. He is enjoying it. Today he has been kinda sleepy. So he is not quite finished listening to the parsha of Emor. Earlier Angelina called. She says she is behind the 8-ball again. Her sinuses hurt. There is a meeting for soccer tonight for Aberta. Over the weekend there was a soccer game in Macomb. Also over the weekend Jesse and Jonny planted grass seed. It was very nice that there has been so much rain here in Michigan. On Friday Jonny cleaned his bathroom at the Hotel Hilton. But his mop broke. So he took it home. Jonny applied hot glue to the broken mop. He brought the repaired mop to work. Today he cleaned his bathroom again. And again the mop broke. Now it is beyond repair. Also over the weekend Jesse got Jonny a book at the library. That was very nice of him to. It was called something like Lost Dog Last night Angelina and Jonny watched Criminal Minds an older episode. Jonny is still working on his D-Day Collection movie DVD. It helped him with a perspective on the book from the book club.

Today at 5:45 PM, Jonny will be meeting his son Jesse at soccer practice.

At work he is adding a fixed header to a scrollable DataGrid in ASP.NET.

He rode his bike to work today.

Jonny only has $3 so he might not it to the Red Hawk.

Right now he is feeling sleepy. This always seems to happen around 2:00 PM.

This week in the parsha it was a double parsha again like last week. The parshim are called Achaierei Mos and Kedoshim.

It tells the reader to be afraid of your mother. This is because most people are scared of the father, so the Torah wants to balance that out.

Also the first line is "we should all be holy". The word we is used because this means the parsha was taught to all of Israel not just the men.

It tells not to indulge.

The parsha says the more mitzvahs are done the holier the mitzvah doer becomes.

It is important to listen to the rules of Shabbos.

All these make sense but Jews do these because the Torah says to.

For Jonny the mood was a good one. He was happy and jolly on the bus and in the lunch room. Then boom the after lunch coffee and the after lunch lulls. He feels kinda groggy now because he had what Angelina calls "her 20 minutes". Jonny woke up around 1:45. He got right back into programming ASP.NET. He hasn't done anything else today. No other data entry tasks. He has no plans to go to Red Hawk. Jonny went there on Friday and had two Great Lakes beers. Jonny also went there on Tuesday. But right about now he is running out of money. Today it was too cold in the morning to ride a bike to work. So he took the 8:17 #14 bus, which gets him late to work. Lorraine picked him out a new book. The book is called To Say Nothing of The Dog. And Jonny is on page 40. Cell phone. It was Angelina of course. She was calling to complain about her students. Over the weekend Jonny froze at Alberta's soccer game. Also over the weekend Jonny talked to Wendell. But Jesse got him off the phone before Wendell could wine too much about the beach or the Shenandoah. Tonight is a concert at Jesse's school. Again this week is a double parsha. So Jonny listened to Acharei. He didn't really pay that close attention. OK if Jonny were trying to hit more tags... Over the weekend Lucy the dog had a blow out. It smelled so bad so yep, he pulled out the cherry flavored scented candle. He played with that most of the morning. Today Jesse has a doctor visit at 3:20. This visit is for his hand. About two weeks ago, Jonny and Jesse were wood working. Has the splinter ever come out? During the week Angelina bought some lox, because she was in the mood for it. Jonny is done with The Zookeeper's Wife, 340 pages. He is finished with the The DaVinci Code, 454 pages. He has visual studio, and visual source safe running properly on his computer at work. He rode his bike to work today. Yesterday Jonny went to the Red Hawk and had some Great Lakes Edmondt Fiztgeralt Beer. He listened to the parsha Tazria discussion for the second time this week.

Jonny was real busy last week.

He finished a book. He finished reading The Zookeeper's Wife. This was 340 pages, including the details explaining the chapters. There were reading group discussion notes as well. Jonny is on page 327 of The DaVinci Code. So he plans to finish that book tonight.

Over the weekend he made brisket chili. It is super hot. No one else in the family will eat it.

This week there is a double parsha. Last week there was none. Last week was a repeat of Shemini. This week is both Tzaria and Metzora.

Jonny has been struggling to load software. He is in the midst of getting DbArtisan and Visual Studio.

The bookshelf is finished. It is 8 shelves 34 inches wide. Last night Lorraine helped load some books onto it.

VASE is running slow.

Angelina obtained a 20% discount one of Lorraine's camps.

Anglina wants to buy a portable DVD player. Jonny researched a nice Philips brand for her. They have them reconditioned at Best Buy for $69.99.

Angelina called because Jonny didn't fill up the cars with gas while she was away. It wasn't on his list. She also called to get his Trader Joe food order, but he was in Rob's staff meeting. Lea didn't show up for it. Jonny thinks sometimes he would have been better off to follow his mentor's example and skip the boring, heavily laden with network talk meeting.

Angelina's substitute tested out some students. So she is mad about that.

Angelina called Lyman to come over and help Jonny with his shelf again. Actually they needed him to pick up Annabella and to look at some electric work. In payment, one of the new beers that Angelina bought for Jonny was drunk. Jonny had the plum brandy instead because it was still Passover. And Jews can't drink beer on Passover.

Alberta had an eye appointment that Angelina had to take her to.

Over the weekend Jesse and Jonny worked on a bookshelf. Fortunately Lorraine's friend Annabella's father Lyman helped. Jonny couldn't figure out why his circular saw wouldn't cut. Lyman discovered it was on backwards. Then he suggested they build the shelf not by using mason screws. So instead of making one shelf 4 feet wide, they plan to make about 4-8 shelves 34 inches wide. Lyman suggested bringing a board from the beams straight down. It worked perfectly.

It is still passover and Jonny had a roast beef, mustard, lettuce and matzah sandwich. He chewed the fat with Branden for almost an hour. Earlier he wasted a lot of time and fell asleep.

The wii has been fixed. Nintendo fixed it for free. They normally would have charged $75. But instead, they provided free $10 worth of shipping. Angelina purchased a federal express box for $5. They replaced the disc drive and the back of the wii. They also replaced two CD games. The games were probably scratched. The replacments were: Mario Brothers and wii sports resorts.

The parsha website claims there is no new parsha this week. So Jonny didn't listen to any parsha.

Yesterday was Lucy and Leo's 17th birthday. Last night Lucy pooped in her bed. Jesse found her. Jesse, Lorraine and Alberta have no school today. Alberta celebrated by watching two Scrubs episodes with Jonny after midnight. She has a soccer game in Wixom this weekend. Jonny rode his bike today. He rode about 8 times last month and only 2 times last March. So that is an improvement. He is up to page 194 of ZK and page 191 of DC. Yesterday Krisitina called. Jonny talked to her at work for about ten minutes. They are at the beach. Beverly gave him a weird look so he finished the short call in the kitchen. Today the kitchen got a new refridgerator. Today Jonny woke up with a bad headache. He took a tylenol. He didn't sleep much and was juiced up on Slovawitz, AKA plum brandy from Hungary that is kosher. Unfortunately Angelina is getting juiced up for her five day departure on Wednesday. So she is handing out long lists of chores for Jonny. His greatest ambition is to make so brisket chili. He won't be using kosher from Hiller's $10.99/lb either. But he plans to go to Kroger's and purchase the beans you have to soak for 24 hours. That is what makes for some authentic chili. This will all happen either Wednesday or Thursday. Jonny has half days to take care of Lucy while Angelina, Lorraine and Jesse are out in central Pennsylvania. Jonny plans to drop his bike off today at the bike shop on the way home from work. That is because the rear tire is rubbing against the break pad.

Today is a beautiful day outside. While inside Jonny has been reading books. He is up to page 170 of The DaVinci Code, DC. This is a very nice story. He is reading a book for the synagogue book club. He is up to page 186 of that book. The Zookeeper's Wife, ZK, is a sad book about the holocaust. Jonny is up to chapter 21. He will finish it long before the reading group meeting in 4 weeks.

Because of Passover, Jonny felt like not eating lunch yesterday. For dinner he had brisket. For lunch he had gefilte fish. For dinner tonight he is having brisket. For lunch tomorrow, brisket. Tuesday night Angelina reheated the brisket and served it for dinner. It was originally cooked over the weekend. Since she teaches and substitute teaches, she is too busy working to cook during the week.

Office 2007 now works properly on Jonny's PC at work. He forgot his iron key. But now he con consolidate all the fake name spreadsheets and back up copies.

Occasionally Jonny will take notes while talking to Angelina on the phone. Today's notes:

Richard Ziman - Jonny's brother. Lives in San Diego. Married to Nancy Ticotin. Works as a salesman.

Notice Angelina affectionately refers to Jonny's father as Mr P. That is since Wendell Pierce's last name starts with a P.

Elizabeth Regen - Jonny's Aunt and Wendell's surviving older sister. She lives in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jesse calls her and Jonny's parents. But Kristina gets mad when Jesse says Aunt Regen instead of Grandma Kroft.

Old Neighbors from 1993

Hume Cronyn and Gwen Verdon. They were Angelina and Jonny's neighbors in 1993 Ann Arbor. They lived in a two family condo. Each condo was separate with a shared stairwell to the basement. When Angelina and Jonny moved to Pittsfield township they stayed in touch for a while. The couple like to drink a lot. They gave them Candace the cat. Hume and Gwen already had cats of their own and this other cat needed a home.

Clint Howard - Not quite a neighbor he was the handy man and electrician that Angelina favored in the early years of living in that house (after they left the Ann Arbor condo) around 1993.

Mickey Jones - Clint later recommended/introduced Angelina to this rough and ready cabinet maker. Angelina and Mickey ended the business relationship with a lawsuit. Clint testified against his friend to an extent but the Mickey's beer bribe forced Clint to remaining neutral.

Jack Gilford - LAN man. Gave the family dog Lucy.

Ron Howard - eventually became Jonny's boss and the reason why it became unbearable to work there.

Maureen Stapleton - Like Penny Fuller she is a manager but not Jonny's direct manager just a project leader responsible for the work he works on. She was into the Hobbit and wanted to have a tween party. In the book tween was when a hobbit turned 33 and official shed their wild oats. Also like Penny she sometimes caused trouble for Jonny. It climaxed in a bad comment or two towards the end of the job when he quit. She also was more friendly towards Ron Howard before he got the promotion from coworker to manager over Jonny.

Alberta came back and she never even went anywhere. Jonny is just gonna have to step up and be a better father. All Angelina ever says is what are we gonna do about her. The answer is stay out of the way and let the dad do his work. She still looks up to him but this is a pivotal age.

Jonny had $4 in his pocket yesterday when he was chasing after Alberta, or running away from Angelina was more like what he was doing. Somehow by the end of the day the money vanished. At the end of the day Jonny went and picked up Lorraine at the sewing class. This is a regular Tuesday occurence. As regular as the way back Tuesday's. Please somebody, read these old diary entrys.

This is still the parsha of Shemi. The body of the priests were burnt but the body was untouched. The fire burnt them up. This is the parsha where Aaron's sons were killed by G-d. There were 12 different chet (sins) they might have. Hashem is very strict, the more kadeshim you are. These were great madregas (leaders). They had geyever. The layv (heart) is different. By eating trayf (unkosher) chazar (pig) looks kosher. He puts out his feet. But inside he is tumay (unclean). The days of sfera counting till receiving the Torah.

Alberta runs away

Today is way back Tuesday. Sunday July 3rd, 1994. Jonny's parents buy everything. Yet Angelina is still whining. What else is new?

Well today Alberta ran away. She ran to the Jewish equivalent of a convent. Now the latest that Jonny heard is that the people left a note in Angelina's kitchen. The note said she went to school. So actually she got exactly what she wanted. She probably went over to their house and took a nap. Then she went to school in the afternoon, after being well rested and well studied. She had a test today.

Jonny was pretty angry with Angelina. He told her that if she wants to kick Alberta out of the house, Wendell and Kristina would gladly, gladly, gladly take her.

At work, the rebuid didn't work. It took almost all day to get the rebuild to happen today. Jonny had to sit in his office with tech support to make it happen.

baking for passover

Today is a fast day. Jonny is fasting for the fast of the firstborn. So his mood is a strange one today.

The people working for Rob still want Jonny to read boring stuff on the internet. They want him to learn how to use .NET to configure sharepoint.

Over the weekend Jonny talked to Wendell. They discussed passover cakes and how to make them. Jonny was sitting in the car waiting to pickup Jesse from a birthday party. He was carpooling with another child who lives two doors away. But Jonny was busy getting the baking tips and tricks from his father. And his father's father was a baker too. Wendell is an economist. But Jonny's dad loves to cook.

It was cold so today Jonny rode the bus instead of the bike. He has drifted off to sleep once or twice this is because, with no food there isn't much else to do.

Jesse and Jonny also went to the liquor store and bought some Slivowitz, that is Hungarian, kosher, plum brandy. While watching a Hallmark movie with Angelina, and the bottle sitting in the window of the living room. Angelina kept saying, come on I know you want to open that bottle. So eventually he did. Half an hour later she said it again. Come on I know you want to have another shot. He had a another shot while watching the news and reading DC.

Today Jonny listened to the chumash. This week's parsha is Shemini. This means something to do with the 8th day. Aaron accepted the blame. He learned to blame himself. Not blame other people. Animals are kosher. This is not because Hashem knows that an animal isn't good for us. It is simply because Hashem has decreed it. In the haft-torah, David put the Torah in a wagon instead of his shoulders. Why did Rabbi Akiva's disciples all die during this three week period?

Well time to get back to work. The automatic rebuild didn't work. So Jonny is supposed to kick it off when he leaves for the day.

Ice cream social

Today Jonny's department had an ice cream social. They had diet and regular ice cream. Also there was A & W brand root beer and another kind of root beer. Also there was Vernor's brand ginger ale.

Jonny watched an episode of Scrubs and deleted a few others. There wasn't a new episode on ABC this Wednesday.

Rob told Jonny to let tech support handle the reformat. So Jonny emailed them and it will happen tonight.

Jonny is on page 110 of The Zookeeper's Wife. He is on page 111 of The DaVinci Code.

Right now he is listening to Tzav. Beverly doesn't seem to mind.

For Pesach, Jonny, Angelina, Lorraine, Alberta and Jesse are going to the house of Bill, Jennifer, Margo and William. Margo is in 7th grade, Alberta is in 8th grade and Lorraine is in 6th grade.

Jonny isn't in a working mood and now he hasn't even had lunch yet. He could walk to Red Hawk around 3:30 PM and read a book for an hour while sipping a beer. Happy hour begins at 4 PM probably. But he is too sleepy to even concentrate on the novel or the documentar.

Passover is coming to Ann Arbor real soon.

Outside the Hotel Hilton it is very cloudy, gray and just down right nasty looking. Surprisingly enough it isn't snowing. The weather is supposed to be low 26.

Jonny has been doing data entry at work. He will graduate to even lower. Soon he will be installing software. To fix his office 2007 problem, he needs to reformat the hard drive. Jonny was waiting to see if the software would come back.

Jonny is on page 107 of both books he is reading.

Last night he watched Scrubs. The night before and the night before that Angelina and Jonny watched Cold Case. Now they are all caught up on Cold Case episode. Jonny didn't even realize, there is probably a new Scrubs episode to watch. The new season is on Wednesday nights.

He was really bored yesterday. So he wrote random notes on the parsha. They make no sense what so ever. They are just a bunch of Hebrew words written in transliteration.

Today is back in the day Tuesday. On Saturday July 2, 1994, Jonny was musing about the internet. Feel free to click on that link to the old diary entry. Alas no new characters were introduced. But there is more than a page now of old diary entries. It is amazing he wrote in that cramped 3 inch by 3 1/2 inch diary, knowing 16 years ago he would be copying it down in this blog.

Jonny just woke up from a drifting off. His lips were dry. He couldn't wait for Branden and Bevery's boss to leave. So he could sleep.

Right now the view out of Hotel Hilton is absolutely fantastic.

Tomorrow Jonny has a conference call for VASE governor's meeting in Death Valley. He chooses to stay in Hotel Hilton. This is because at 3PM he has another meeting in nearby Bee Hive. There is only a mile distance between those two sites, but Jonny can't come to work at 9:30, eat an expensive lunch and then go to the boring meeting in the Bee Hive at 3 PM. He wouldn't really be working at all.

Today he finished a book. He finished listening to The Cat Who Smelled A Rat. It was all right but, no need to check the reviews. It was a book on CD so he heard it on his PC. Jonny is on page 90 of The Zookeeper's Wife/u>. He is on page 64 of The DaVinci Code.

weird corned beef dream

Jonny had a dream about corned beef. Lyman's wife was making lunch for Jonny. She was going to make grilled bacon sandwiches. But Jonny had better ideas. He had just gone to Hiller's grocery and purchased a small 1/4 lb of Boar's Head corned beef. So he said, here take this for the lunch too. But leave me 3 or 4 slices for my lunch another time. Then he began to think, why didn't I buy 1/2 lb instead of a mere 1/4 lb of this delicious delicatessen meat.

Jesse and Jonny went to the hardware store.

Jonny spoke to Kristina.

Alberta and Jonny went to a double header soccer game in Wixom.

The weekend went by fast. It was all a blur.

At the Hotel Hilton, Jeremey turned down an full-time position. Beverly was given the option and she took it. the Two of them are in the hotel, but so quiet, Jonny almost feels alone at times.

Jonny is up to Chapter 7 of The DaVinci Code. He is up to Chapter 8 of The Zookeeper's Wife. Jonny is listening to The Cat Who Smelled A Rat, with headphones. He watched two episodes of Scrubs last night. Angelina and Jonny watched Without A Trace. She has been too busy with her class to watch much TV.

This week in the chumash, Jonny listened to Tzav. The question of the day is why not speak directly to Aaron?

Angelina called, one of many times. She got in trouble with Jesse's teacher. The teacher was upset with Angelina, because she read in the classroom incorrectly. Angelina was supposed to get in depth with the characters.

confused about the parsha

Things are a bit hectic here. Jonny was a bit confused about the parsha. Hw was listening to a bible lecture. But in Judiasim it is called the weekly torah parsha drash. The funny thing is he listens to it twice a week, so it sinks in one hour on Monday and then again on Wednesday. On Friday Jonny hears the chanting version in Hebrew. At the end of the chanting Jonny figured out that he was a week behind. So now he is listening to this week's called Vayikra again now.
This is the parsha where the alpha and the other letters according to midrash have a discussion. The alpeh in Vayirka is small too.

Jonny is only up to chapter 6 of The DaVinci Code. So he really on page 33 not page 50. But he really wanted to listen to The Cat Who Smelled a Rat. He is on CD 3 of that book.

Angelina called and her students are really giving her problems.

Jonny rode his bike today.

He is probably going to the Red Hawk again. Lucky pants, he found $3 in them. He only needs $5.60 plus tip for 2 milky stouts, in honor of March 17th of course.

Today Jonny is listening to The Cat Who Smelled a Rat. He is up to chapter 6 of The Zookeepers Wife. He is still up to page 50 of The DaVinci Code. Earlier today the cat CD was listened to and Jonny fell asleep. So he put the CD in again.

Jonny forgot his handkerchief today. The weather is getting warmer. Angelina chided him for wearing such a warm jacket. So by switching to the black fleece he wears in this warmer weather he forgot to take his handkerchief. In the morning there is so much to do and remember to scramble to work.

Jonny listened to the parsha Pikudei twice this week.

Angelina called and complained that the Medicaid insurance for Jesse and Lorraine is getting messed up.

Jonny's students found the midterm test was difficult.

Jonny is up to page 18 of The DaVinci Code and page 50 of The Zookeeper's Wife.

Today Jesse brought a project to school for the special interest fair. He and Lorraine made a Wright Brothers project. It really is just a poster board with some facts on it.

It was so cold this morning. Now it is like 57 degrees in Ann Arbor.

Penny told another employee from Death Valley that Jonny would no longer be reporting to Rob. She said this while he was standing right there. She didn't speak directly to Jonny. She has no right to do that. This information is rightly supposed to be conveyed to Jonny from Rob not from Penny to another employee about Jonny while Jonny is standing right there, just inside of ear shot.

two books to read

Jonny finished listening to Nerve Damage. It is not recommended. Jonny is on page 49 of The Zookeeper's Wife. He is reading that for the Synagogue book club. Angelina was nice enough to pick up DaVinci Code for her husband at the library over the weekend. Lorraine had to go to services and Jonny heard the announcement about the reading group. So now he has two books to read.

Jesse and Jonny rode their bikes to the science olympiad, over the weekend. Also over the weekend, Jonny took Alberta to her soccer game in Wixom.

After work on Friday Jonny took the liberty of going to Red Hawk. He had two nice glasses of milky stout for the inflated price of $5.60. Luckily it was happy hour so that was the price for normally one glass was the price for two glasses.

Angelina was busy spending money. She had her handyman over. He was putting up crown molding in the living room. This amounted to about $300 maybe $400. The handyman was able to get another job out of her. They requested his services to remove the cap of a railing. The cap is about one foot wide flat board the goes in a angle for a total of 15 feet.

Saturday services

Jonny still hasn't started another book yet. He was hoping to start DaVinci Code. He only read one The Hunting Wind review so far.

This week was the Vayakhel parsha. The prohibition again fire is mentioned specifically in this parsha. Even though it says there are 39 things you can't do, this one thing is specified all by itself. If a person is lazy they only need look to the ant. The ant only lives in the middle floor. He has top floor that gets wet. The ant has a basement that gets middle. In the three floor house the ant lives only on the second floor.

Angelina called and said that Lucy pooped in her bed. This was in the middle of the morning after her walk. Angelina wants to skip the Saturday morning service. It is part of Lorraine's religious school training. But they didn't send a reminder. It involves not only going to the service at 10:45 but going at 9:25 AM. A full three hours of psalms, prayers, getting up, getting down, listening to announcments, lots of Hebrew that Jonny doesn't know. Lorraine doesn't even sit with him. Angelina doesn't go, Jesse is too young to sit that long. Alberta probably won't go either.

Jonny didn't watch any Scrubs episodes last night.

Today Jonny listened to parsha vayakhel. Moshe gathered and spoke. This is a big deal because he did both. Other times he just spoke to the Israelites. But this time he not only spoke to them, but also gathered them together first. This also happened on the day after Yom Kippur. This was right after the Moshe brought out the second set of ten commandments. There are 39 things that you can't do on Shabbos. These are learned from this parsha. This is because the they are related to the building of the Mishkan. Each of the items required to build the Mishkan is also a forbidden on Shabbos item. Mitzryam made the Jews work hard. This is remembered at the time of the sabbath. The 39 things are called the Lamed Tes Melochome. An ant needs 1 1/2 pieces of wheat to live. The ant lives for 6 months. Yet an ant gathers about 300 pieces of wheat. Why does he do that because just in case the almighty were to grant him the right to live, he would be ready. The men and the women came together to donate to the mishkan.

Earlier today Angelina called. She was complaining that Jesse was late for school. Jonny and Jesse had to walk to school. This was because Angelina was working and couldn't do the rushing him off to school task.

Over the weekend, Jesse had science olympics. He also had futsol, art class and swim class.

Jonny hasn't started a new book.

He went to the doctor on Monday for his annual physical checkup. He wasn't really in the mood to be there, because he just wanted to go back to sleep and take a super long nap. Well at first his blood pressure was 141 over 96. But after sitting in the cold quiet room in a gown for 15 minutes, it dropped. She took his reading and it was 115 over 73. During the science olympics his pulse was 48. But that was self taken. He might have missed a beat.

Jonny finished a book. He read 430 pages of Hollywood Crows.

Today he listened to the Torah chanting. This was parsha KiTisa.

It is almost time to start planning for Pesach.

Jonny has gotten back into doing situps at night.

He has some strange dreams again. But this time he woke up with a splitting headache. It hurt his head too much to remember the dreams.

Lorraine lost her cell phone. She is really scared of what Angelina will say.

Jonny finished a program to link primary diagnosis forms to consult forms and to link consult forms to treatment summary forms.

USB and wires

He did get lots of positive feedback from Dolly today. He got her patient referral report working more correctly. Lea had given him some bad information and that made the report really bad. This all caused some major coughing/lung collapsing spasms.

But now all is well.

Jonny is up to page 382 of his book.

Last night he and Angelina watched Criminal Minds on DVR.

Jonny listened to the parsha today. He saw and said Shalom to a chasid at the hotel california branch just for children. It was hopefully that he was there for a birth and not a tragedy. Jonny goes over to that building to get a drink of water sometimes.

Today Jonny is barely working, sometimes. Jonny spent two hours searching for VHS to DVD solutions. The problems also partly, does the person have a DVD burner as well as the special VHS analog to digital adapter part. Another alternate technical solution is to buy a cam corder that can do some of the same features as in, it can take a RCA audio feed from a VCR and record to digital. Then boom you got your VHS tape on digital. Same idea with printers. Thus today's problem. What to do with the HP Laser printer that isn't wireless. One solution is to buy a wireless print server, another is a wireless router, or buy a wireless printer. Some routers will accept a USB input from a USB printer. It turns out that would work here in the Miller home if not for one obstacle. The desktop computer is already plugged into the USB port. This is because its network ethernet doesn't work. So there is another solution, buy a USB to ethernet wire. They cost as little as $25. The wireless USB adapter isn't the solution. That absolutely won't work. Then Jonny can get a long wire from the printer to the router. Then a short network wire from the ethernet adapter to the desktop. This frees up a USB cable. Unfortunately not the cable desired to free up. Jonny has a card reader that uses the square USB to flat USB connection. He has two of those, one for the reader and one for the printer. It would be nice to have the square USB extra for the reader when the reader is needed on the laptop. He has it set up so the reader is on the desk of the desktop and the wire snakes back behind. It is soley used for digital picture retrieval off the SD card. Of course the desktop's built in card reader doesn't work. The laptop doesn't have it. The other laptop surprise by DELL has a card reader.

working from home

It has been a very unrelaxing past 15 minutes for Jonny. And now blogger says unrelaxing isn't even a word. Jonny had to go home at 1 PM to take care of the dog Lucy. At 1:15 PM he was on his postage stamp size deck letting Lucy out and talking on his headset. The same headset that Jesse goes crazy over. There now his breathing is coming a little bit easier. He was all set to work at home for 30 minutes and then blog. But no he got emails asking for work from both Dolly Parton and Penny Fuller. So he hastily wrote emails, started choking, got emails, choked some more. His lungs getting tighter. All the while his relaxing candle burning about 1/20 of and inch high. It managed to stay lit and is now up to 1/4 inch. The recycled wax is starting to puddle up against the wax boulders on the rim. Jonny now has two laptops going. He has Leo the cat sitting on the kitchen table. He is purring loudly and is smart enough not to get burned by a candle. No RG KiTaso yet. Jonny already took his nap too. Yesterday he continued today's distraction streak. Yesterday it was looking up MC Hammer while listening to click 2 dance radio. Then he went to IMDB to lookup SNL quotes, memorable lines. The other laptop is purring louder than the cat. The dog is asleep again and Jonny is wearing sweats. He can't go back to Hotel California and see Dolly about the patient referral report that is wrong, broken and doesn't work. He can't look up the Unknown cancers report he gave to Penny's users, to see if they lied and got data for 2008 that they weren't authorized to get by IRB approval yet. The other laptop just got loaded with some VPN software and then promptly rebooted. With this new software, Jonny just might be able to remote connect for pinch days like today. In the meantime it is 2:09 and time to wrap this blog entry up. Jonny is past page 250 of Hollywood Crows. Time to listen to some Drash. That is Jewish talk for Torah lecture. Will the cats and dog like it?
