pittsfield-jew

The first post says it all Shalom, This is the home of the Pittsfield Jew. Sure its neat to read about Jews in Brooklyn who are very observant but how about a not so observant Jew who lives in the Mid West?

A day at the movies

By now most people have heard. Here in Ann Arbor, there is movies being made. On Monday when Jonny was walking to Sweetwaters cafe to be stood up for a meeting he passed by the movie set. He passes by it when he drives to Hollywood too. Today was no exception. He makes a right off Packard onto Main. Jonny goes one block north on Main and makes a left on William. William goes down a hill. On the way down the hill he passes Ashley, the one way street is headed to the right. At the bottom of the hill is a First street. After crossing the railroad tracks there are parking lots to the left and right. This is the flood plain. First street has a stop sign and is a one way street headed to the left. On the right is security. The street is blocked off for the next two blocks. It is blocked from William, Liberty and all the way to Washington. So maybe next week when Jonny goes to Sweetwaters for a meeting on Monday he'll take a peek. But today they were lighting a fire in the street. Sounds exciting.

Last night Janeane came over after dinner. She walked with her two children from Zsa Zsa's house. They are leaving Ann Arbor this weekend, her and Michael. Alberta stayed home. She is scared to cross Packard on foot. So they all went to Dairy Queen, which is just across the street from their house. Jonny got a pecan cluster small blizzard. Angelina brought back a brownie something to Alberta. Jesse had a cone. Lorraine had a oreo mint blizzard and the rest is in the freezer.

Michael didn't show up last night, too much work to do. He apparently doesn't have a cake job as much as Jonny does in ACHO. Speaking of hospitals, Jonny watched an episode of scrubs last night. It was funny and cheered him up a bit. He woke up beat this morning. Since Lea is on vacation Jonny is thinking about walking back to his car and taking a nap. This morning he was sending a fax for Angelina. One went through the other didn't. He was listening to the parsha maseis but it didn't make much sense. The main lesson was that the parsha recites the 42 places the Jews wandered in the desert. This is to show that the wanderings weren't really that bad. They were bad and the Jews had committed a het to earn them, but they weren't that bad. That is why they are repeated in the Torah.

Wednesday

Not sure if this was mentioned. Jesse might have to go for an MRI. He went to an orthopedic surgeon on Monday. Angelina took him. He has lingering complications from the cancer. The child has developed scoliosis. They just monitor him for it. Jesse has no symptoms. He looks and acts like a pretty normal kid.

Last night Lorraine went to the mud hens game. It was a team building outing for her softball team. The last game was Monday and this was a post season event. She went with team mate Annabella. Lyman brought her home from Annabella's house. Lyman's wife took the girls to the game. Edie Falco one of the team organizers was there too. She was at every game helping out the girls.

Today Jonny rode his bike to work at Hollywood. On the way he saw Hope M Parish. He waved and said hello but she was running the other way down Packard on the opposite side of the street. She was pushing a jogging stroller. Jonny felt he had to impune Hope's integrity the other day. Janeane and Angelina were both saying she was crazy. Janeane wondered if she was anorexic. Jonny gently reminded them she wasn't and also explained to the over hearing Lorraine what that eating disorder entails.

Jonny just finished reading the evening service of Yom Kippur in Union Prayer Book. Now he is up to page 165 and ready to start the Morning Service for the Day of Atonement. He is listening to the book on tape Someday the Rabbi will leave.

Walking

Today Jonny walked from the bus stop to work. No nap yet but he is feeling tired. Angelina was going to meet Janeane for lunch. Janeane and her husband Michael are staying at Zsa Zsa Gabor's house for part of the summer. Zsa Zsa has a son the same age as Alberta. She has a daughter the same as Lorraine. Both of her kids went to a private elementary but Lorraine went to Burns Park instead. Angelina couldn't stand the expense of the private school. Last night Jonny took his mint mixture out of the freezer, he thawed it and added bourbon, for a mint julip. He listened to a bit of Monday the Rabbi Stayed Home on the way to parking the car at the bus stop. But he walked 30 minutes instead of riding for 12. Over the weekend Wendell Pierce and Kristina Kroft were nagging Jonny Lee Miller about getting a visit going. So he hung up on Krisitina. Wendell wrote the following to Angelina and copied Krisitina, Jonny and Thomas Hill.

Dear Angelina,
It's now a month after the Bat Mitzvah. Are you ready yet to discuss
visits?
How about a trip to Bethany beach this summer by some or all of you?
How about a trip to Arlington any weekend?
How about a visit on a Jewish holiday?
How about a visit Thanksgiving?
Wendell

--
Janeane
To which Jonny wrote to Angelina's Dad also Go Dad. Then Angelina called Jonny on his cell phone and said he was rude. So Jonny wrote to the group including Thomas (Jonny's FIL).

Angelina says "It is pretty rude of me to say Go Dad" She further goes on to say "If you want to go, go", then she adds "you know we can't go any where"

So the battle continues

Up and down Packard and Stadium

Today's post was gonna be about going up and down Packard and Stadium. But the story turned out differently than the post was gonna be. Jonny started dreaming it up as he was doing it. So then he was gonna write about mint julips. Now he has shifted to writing about a phone call he had with Angelina. Anything having to do with Jesse is the kind of thing that brings your mind back into focus. Brings your sense of awareness to what really matters. This morning Angelina a Jesse skipped camp. This was to be his first day of camp. He graduated from a reading program last week. But instead of Friday reading and then Monday camp life had different plans. The two of them went on a long exhausting travel through the health system. They traveled north east on 14 to Canton. There Jesse was seen due to his life long scoliosis diagnosis. The doctor has indicated he wants an MRI done. This would probably require some sedation as Jesse is only 6.

Jonny is listening to Monday the Rabbi Stayed home or something like that. He wants to sit home and watch Scrubs. Most of the time there isn't time. Right now Lea is out to lunch. Probably exercising at the YMCA, which is on Washington and 3rd street. This is only two patriots away. Get it. From William to Liberty to Washington. Ha ha. Jonny was just over that way this morning. He was gonna meet with his weekly bio resource people to discuss VASE's role. When they both didn't show up. Jonny walked to the Sweetwaters's cafe on Washington. Then he brought Hollywood coffee and fell asleep while drinking it in the lounge of the cafe. At 9:30 he left to go back to Hollywood. He spent most of the weekend extending the core on a ceiling light fixture. He almost got a shock from it. Lea has been working Jonny hard all morning. First about a matching program for hospital billing that doesn't check for patients with 8 digits and 9th zero in the front. Who knew? Then Lea wanted some patient's charges reexported since they were charged under the wrong billing id. Then she wants him to go back to the sybase program that checks if a table is locked. He seems to have past all the tests with flying colors, except he is more sleepy for the wear of it. Laurence was hired back to the U. He will even be hired back into ACHO. The health insurance company that Jonny and Laurence worked at was periphally affiliated with ACHO.

Sleeping away

As usual Jonny seems to be not doing too much work. He figured out how to make an MSI with the help of another coworker. The problem was Jonny was using Visual Studio Web Developer Express 2008 and couldn't figure out how to do it. There was no real reason to use that version. Last night was fun said Angelina. She didn't complain too much. The fish on the grill was good too. The kids didn't like it. Jonny had a beer, hop fest. He tried to make mint julep but Janeanne's mother was an alcoholic and no one else drinks either. Jonny took some dried mint and added it to a cup of water. Then he microwaved this concoction for two minutes. Angelina thought he was messing up Michael's corn setup. But he wasn't. He let the mixture sit for five minutes. Then he took another cup and poured the tea through a coffee filter. He was planning to make some sugar water and save this to mix with ice and bourbon. But Angelina dumped it around 10 PM. Also at that same moment Lucy the dog lamented the loss of the mint tea by peeing on the floor in the kitchen. Alberta's friend was in camp so there were only 3 kids on their side and 3 on Jonny's side. Tomorrow is the big golf outing. Jonny has been listening to matos but with not much luck. It is all about midian. It is very confusing. He stayed up late steam cleaning, and watching scrubs. Then grading paper on the internet. Only 7 excel homework submission and making a check list for the students. He also spent some time researching tips on Windows Vista or another words screwing around. Today he spent some time researching MP3 player direction. Or another words screwing around. The MP3 player has a hard time switching folders from the RG folder where the parshas are stored to the various music folders. Jonny rode his bike yesterday, but not today. Good news, he walked to his car and got money and library card. Then walked to Banditos and got lunch. Then he walked to the library and got two Rabbi series book on tapes. He then walked back to the car. He then fell asleep. Jonny listened to the parsha during this walking around. Jonny got smart, good news, he got someone to pick him up at 8:15 tomorrow so he won't have to drive to the golf outing. Angelina was complaining about Annabella and her family. Do they live on the wrong side of the tracks? Is she a bad influence on Lorraine? Does she eat fatty foods? Do their parents have no real discipline with the kids? Is their house a pit? What ends up happening is Annabella comes over for a while and stays for dinner and doesn't eat the foods and costs Angelina a fortune in fatty foods. Jonny being a man offers no advice except to talk to Lyman. The parents are to be accountable. Doesn't Lorraine go to the movies with Lyman and Annabella? Doesn't Lyman drive? Doesn't Lyman pay? Doesn't Lyman also feed Lorraine? Doesn't Angelina complain without merit? Jonny had a bean burrito lunch special with chips and salsa and guacamole side. The cost was $5.50 with tax, $5.83, with tip, $7 keep the change thank you. Maybe that would be a good place to go for Jonny's birthday dinner. They sell beer and margaritas too. They are only 2 miles or so from the Jonny home. There isn't much parking downtown and the family would never walk that far. One book was Monday the Rabbi Stayed Home and the other was Someday the Rabbi will leave. One is about a hit and run accident. The other about Israel. They are part of the the Kemelman books series, Friday the Rabbi Slept Late etc. Jonny got two because he wasn't sure if he read one before or not. He has until August 21.

Riding Buses

Today Jonny spent a bit of time riding buses. He had a meeting in Death Valley. So he took a walk to the Blake Transit Center on Fourth Avenue, one block past Main Street in time to catch the 12:03 #2 bus. Hollywood is at 3rd street and William, so the trip wasn't 4 blocks. There is no 3rd, 2nd or 1st avenue's in Ann Arbor. There is a 2nd street, 1st Street and Ashley Street. After sprinting to the bus, he rode for 30 minutes until arriving at the Green Road Park and Ride. There he caught the Hotel California Intercampus East. The #2 is an AATA bus. It rides north and east along Plymouth Road. It cuts through town, down to the Hotel California and around it. Then across the river and up hill up Plymouth Road until it gets to the neighborhood. Once on the Intercampus the rider is to tell the driver that they want to go to Death Valley Lobby M, or else it only goes as far as the Bee Hive. Hotel California keeps all their IT staff hundreds of them, including, Michael Rapaport, Angelina's dinner guest tonight in three buildings. Jonny calls this the Bee Hive. Michael is here from Israel with his wife Janeane Garofalo and family for the Summer. They are in Ann Arbor for a month. Michael telecommutes for the IT department all year long from Israel. Once Jonny got to Death Valley he had a meeting about the software product they use. It needs a good name so it won't show up in searches. It was given its real name in earlier posts but now a new name is needed, for this clinical trials based software. Hmmm. How about VASE. It stands for Very Adverse Serious Events. So Penny is on the VASE governor's board. This means Hotel California has many departments using VASE. They want all the departments to agree on possible software requests to ask of VASE headquarters in California. Of course Hotel California has a special VASE department. So there is two VASES, VASE in Death Valley (Ann Arbor) and VASE in california. VASE Death Valley is in Death Valley
only because Hotel California is too stupid to have enough room for all of it's employees. That is why Jonny doesn't even have a desk in Hotel California more than 2 days a week. He is in Hollywood the other 3 days in more space owned by Hotel California. Maybe there needs to be an acronym for the fake name of the hospital. Instead of calling it UMHS, perhaps HCAA or ACHO Ann Arbor California HOtel. Angelina is of course whining about the dinner guests. If not now she will be later. She complains, that she gets no free time and now with 6 people coming over for dinner (2 adults, 4 children), plus the 5 people that live there (2 adults, her and Jonny) plus 3 children (Alberta, Lorraine and Jesse). She called today and said she spent 80 something dollars at Trader Joe's, including, thankfully a replenishment of the beer garden. At this point there was a dangerously low stock of only 1 hop fest straight from Trader Joe's. Now there is probably 6 or 7 of some new and exciting beer with a black dog on it. Jonny left his cell phone at home by mistake. He rode his bike to work. Now remember there is a 6 mile distance between Hollywood and Death Valley, so since it is hot like Death Valley today Jonny elected to ride the bus for about 2 hours round trip. He just got back and showed Lea his ASP.NET program. It has been modified slightly. So now it does what ACHO calls a level 2 login. This makes this dumpy little app more uniform. While riding around Jonny read some more of his prayer book. He is now on page 143 and deep into the Day of Atonement evening service. On the book front he finished Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Angelina took his car and returned Dune too. No way he was gonna finish it. It took 3+ weeks to hear Rich Dad, Poor Dad. It was 7 hours, 5 tapes. Dune was 18 tapes, 1 1/2 each for a total of 27 hours. That would take another 12 weeks. Angelina said in not so many words, your book on CD days are over. Ok time to learn how to make an MSI. This is a ASP.NET deployment package. Jonny's code is down below for reference.

Matos

This week's parsha is Matos. The word neder shows up. This word mean a vow. There is a prayer that goes "...neder bakodesh, norah tehlote oh say fela.." This is an important parsha because it tells what to do when there is a vow. It says if you make a vow you must keept it.

Last night Jonny went to the hardware store. He went to Lowes on Carpenter road. They didn't have chain link fence that you can purchase by the foot. Apparently nobody does. Angelina is supposed to call the allied fence company today and ask them. But she keeps chickening out. On Jul 16 Angelina made 7 dollars. She took advantage of the Michigan over charge law. She bought some plants and some tomatoes. Last night Jonny bought tomatoe miracle grow, for $5. He bought some chandelear chain and electrical wiring 8ft for $7. He also bought 5 lawn and refuse bags for $1.96, he got two of those making it 10 bags. On July 14 Angelina bought food from Panera. On July 17 she got another air conditioning deflector vent. On July 18 the cashier at Target was annoying Angelina. She was really upset about the refridgerator. Then Alberta lost her cell phone. Angelina got the steam cleaner fixed. She gave Jonny some papers to sign so charitable organizations could give her some money for Jesse. It really is nice of those companies to do stuff for her. For example they might give her family a hotel room to visit friends in Pittsburgh, PA. Also while they are there he will go to an amusement park. So it is a family outing with another family.

Penny isn't here in Hotel California, so Jonny can just sit here in the dark and sleep. Last night was another baseball game. Lorraine did well, she got a hit and scored a run. She is little and not the best player. Lorraine really enjoys the game. That is what is important. In Ann Arbor corec they try their best to make it that way. The whole Lorraine family went to the game. On the way home from work Jonny so it was raining, so he waited a few minutes for it to let up. A few minutes ago Jonny used the stretch ware software. He stretched a little. Last night he didn't though. And his wrist has been killing him. So he had been taking lots of motrin. Then he gets stomach aches.

Didn't surf, didn't nap

Until now. Jonny was asleep when an Oracle process was running to modify a bunch of MARY SMITHS to Mary Smith for example. Just one resident with 200 records. Then he dozed off. A lady snuck up on him and asked about cat pet hotels. Then he went to imdb to add a new character. He went to the pop up add for funny tee shirts. Then he followed the links to many different real life actresses and actors. But Jonny is here now to give tribute to Lyman Ward, who is Annabella Sciorra's dad. They live off of Packard too. Lorraine plays softball with Annabella. Lyman helped fix the basketball hoop. Earlier today Rob Schneider called. He wanted Jonny to come over to Hotel California to do the evaluation. It went well. Dolly Parton, Penny Fuller and Lea Thompson all gave him favorably marks as customers. Customer only counts 5%. Jonny had to write in that he thinks he needs to be in one office instead of at Hotel California 2 days a week and Hollywood 3 days a week. He ran out of mustard at Hollywood today. He ran out of mustard at Hotel California 2 weeks ago or less. That's ok Angelina has 5 mustards at least at home. She did run out of dog treats. Over the weekend Jonny played golf at Huron Hills with Sam Douglass's older brother. The older brother is going to Michigan State in the fall. The even older brother is going to Northern Michigan. Sam went to Hebrew Day school with Alberta. Jonny rode his bike to work. It was hot and getting hotter. He rode the bus over to Hotel California. Last night he lit a candle while working on the computer in the basement. It was the orange spice one. It is so cold down there from the AC. Angelina and Jonny cleaned up the clutter in Jesse's room. Over the weekend Angelina and the family cut down massive amount of branches and bagged them up to reclaim the yard. Jonny is on page 100 of Union Prayer book. He forgot to bring it today. There are large portions of English because it is a reform prayer book. He is still on the New year portion of the prayer book. Jonny has a stiff neck.

Basketball fixed

Yeah the basketball hoop is fixed. Two engineers helped. They thought outside the box. Right about now Jonny is thinking about kicking off the weekend. He is turning 40 this month too. Not to give away the exact date. Right now he is trying something out in access ODBC as usual and the database isn't cooperating. Early he tried to make an ASP.NET program to look at the Oracle table and let a person change their password. The program sucks. The language sucks. This query has the whole pc locked up. Jonny rode his bike to work and for 16 minutes talked to Wendell. They sent money and that will help pay for the big golf outing this next weekend.

Below is the aspx, nothing unusual here. blogger won't take it so out it goes.

Thursday

Blow by blow for Jonny from 8:30 until now. 8:30 Get on bus. 8:45 Get off bus arrive at Hotel California and eat breakfast. 9:00 Mtg starts talk about DB issues. 9:15 Penny wants Jonny to discuss training. 9:30 Blood draw issues. 9:45 blood draw for research form is discussed. 10:00 please remove wrong names from studies, discussion. 10:15 killing patients and wrong medication, infusion issue discussion. 10:30 peer discussion meeting, discussion as to why would anyone want to work at Hotel California (33,000 employees). They want 100% or at least 87% to say yes or no - yes, I would recommend Hotel California to a friend. IT (500+) was the worst, Radiation Oncology was the second worst. (54%). Figures are guess, since Jonny wants to blog not be accurate. 10:45 meeting ending, only because they got kicked out of room. 11:00 waiting for bus. Angelina called while Jonny was walking to bus stop. 11:15 riding bus and walking near art fair to Hollywood. 11:30 making lunch. 11:45 Bill Maul sends Jonny Lee Miller patients not moved up automatically by new demographics C# program. 12:00 Jonny eats and works. Looks at sybase, C# and Oracle. 12:15 he decides to write the program to look back 250 days instead of 10 days. He did a one time run.

Wednesday

Today Jonny had a roast beef sandwich. For something unique it was made not with rye bread but with some kind of wheat bread. Jonny has come up with a solution (theory) to his putting together the basketball hoop wrong. Yesterday Lorraine went to Cedar Point. This is in Ohio. She went with her day camp. A Jewish camp. Last night Jonny was home late because the midterm for the students was a bit overwhelming. To say the least. Jonny has been reading a bit on the internet. He looked up the Rich Dad, Poor Dad reviews on Amazon. He hasn't finished the book yet. But since it is non-fiction, there is not a problem here. Well the author is a real slime bucket. He made his money, not by investing, but by writing that book. So why buy the book if the only way to make money is by writing a book about it. Since he already did that you need to do something else. Annabella's dad wants to get rich too. She plays on Lorraine's baseball team. He wants to sell a spreadsheet. So Jonny found 1) this is an acceptable business practice, 2) a website that has a product to do just that. Also found out Rich Dad, Poor Dad is a fraud. But Jonny still wants to be rich. The secret in his opinion is to have a profitable business. Jonny rode his bike today. Today is the first day of the Ann Arbor Air Fair. Another web site that Jonny read about is a fantasy stock market for blogs. Well back to Oracle.

Sick at heart

Sick at heart. Today Jonny is mentally ill. This isn't the same as physical but it's just as bad. He was so busy last night he forgot to even feel ill. Thank goodness. Angelina and Alberta went shopping. They came home from the sporting goods store. And later on at 11PM Jonny was outside trying to put together a basketball hoop. It was a great deal, until he messed it up. There are 3 poles that fit inside each other. But if they aren't fit right the holes don't line up and the basket will be on it's side. Oops Penny just walked in. Good news though Jonny has made it through the afternoon slow time. He only dozed for a few minutes. He was downloading software. Beware the conversation might get highly technical. OCI, DAL, ODP, OLE, .NET, Csharp, miscellaneous buzzwords mixed together. What happened was Jonny downloaded c++ express by mistake. Oh my gosh, Csharp is soo much easier to use. Now he is using the alter command in oracle to alter a password and the OracleConnection, and OracleCommand classes in the System.Data.OracleClient (namespace?/reference?/using?). He will make a form and then the users can change the password the MS-ACCESS DB that really is an oracle database. OCI, DAL, ODP, OLE were really just a dead end.

Very ill today

Very ill today. Jonny was so sick he went to his car at 9:30. Angelina called him a few times. Finally he woke up around 11:15. He was late for his Dr. appointment. Alberta and Angelina were waiting for him. This sweet and salty nut granola bar by nature valley. It isn't even expired. The appointment went well. Jonny's elbow and wrist hurts but the break is healing or healed. No more visits needed to ortho for Jonny. He forgot his Thai salad and Angelina gave it to him in the parking lot of Death Valley. They he came back to Hollywood. No more coffee allowed today, because of the ill stomach. So he had three tums and three motrin. He ate very slowly. He couldn't eat the pita chips. Way too greasy. Jonny is on page 58 of Union Prayer Book. He was going to work on a lock, insert, delete, search etc system in sybase using c# for Lea and Jonny's programs. The goal is so that both programs can run at the same time but no clobber each other. They will both write to the same table. But he was busy extracting this lung data all day (when he wasn't sleeping or getting looked at). Over the weekend he pulled a few more stumps out of the yard. There were a lot of sticks and branches to clean up too. His parents are just getting back from Hawaii so he missed talking with them.

Head ache

Jonny has a headache. He extracted a bunch of data today. Penny was doing a performance review in the next office. He rode his bike to work today and back tracked a little bit for a total of http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2068905 3.7 miles, about 2 miles too much. Really the route was supposed to be http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2068919 2.4 on the way home. There is a reason to go south an extra two blocks on Packard so to cross the street at a cross walk. Maybe he needs to go another way. On the way home there is no way to cross packard. Oh well this gets so complicated.

Hot dogs

Strange. Jonny went over to Hotel California today. He started out at Hollywood. Then at 11:30 he took a bus to Hotel California. This was because there was hot dogs being given out. Jonny didn't know that. So he had to go there instead of eating at Hollywood. He hung out and then when he got back got sleepy. Earlier today Jonny went to his car and took a nap. He had to modify some views today. The trick was to use the grant command with the with grant option. As in grant select on schema_name.table_name to user_name with grant option. He read some more of Union Prayer Book on the bus. He is now on page 56. Jonny has had a low grade head ache all day. Probably because he stayed up too late. Last night was another baseball game for Lorraine Bracco. Jonny Lee Miller was proud to watch his daughter's team play to a 18-17 victory. Edie Falco was there as the mother of one of the girls. Another girl on the team, Annabella Sciorra's, parents and brother were there as well. He talked with them the whole game as he watched. The game was played in seven innings of dazzling sunlight. After wards the grasshopper team played on the play ground for another 30 minutes. Jonny is so happy his certificate came in the mail today. Angelina Jolie called earlier to tell her husband how proud she was. Now he can teach online classes. Lea Thompson just walked by very skulkily. Jonny doesn't even care if that is a word or not. He finished working on a billing program yesterday. He converted if from a windows c# to console c# application. He added in the password extraction from the ms-access database too. Now she wants a home grown locking system. It made Jonny's head hurt so he didn't do it yesterday or today. There is a subtle difference between windows and console. The windows version had a form that came up with a button that said cold in Michigan. When the button is clicked the program runs. When the program is done, the form says wear gloves! That part is now gone. Forms can't be put into a schedule. No user interaction allowed.

Wenesday

Today is Wednesday and Lorraine Bracco has a baseball game tonight. Jonny Lee Miller will be going to this game. Jonny also went to the game on Monday night.

Friday is the funeral for Angelina Jolie's Aunt. Sandra Bullock and Thomas Hill will be making the trip to Ann Arbor. Angelina is graciously allowing them to stay in her home. She is even letting them borrow his car while they head up to Lansing. Wondered aloud, "Would Kristina Krofft and Wendell Pierce be allowed the same courtesy"? "Of course" said Angelina. But she meant the car only. His mother complained about too many humuses in the refrigerator. So no stay for the Pierce family in the Miller house. Angelina even said she would virtually pick them up in this imaginary scenario of Kristina and Wendell coming for a friendly visit.

In other news Jonny has finished two books again. He finished Serious Laughter, 160 pages. He finished after more than 3 years, Plain English at Work. Both books had excellent reviews on Amazon. Jonny would not rate the laughing book as highly. It is too early to tell. He usually appreciates a book more after a while after finishing it. Jonny has chosen to pick up a book he started a while ago. He is now on page 44 of Union Prayer Book. This has proven his theory. Page 44 is a complete repeat of page 11. Well maybe not. From looking at the English there is some differences. But they both start with barchu et adoni hamvorach. Recall this is the reform prayer book written in 1950. It comes from a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania synagogue and is the high holidays prayers.

Tuesday

Today Jonny was kinda sleepy and did little much of anything. Right now there are a bunch of people in Penny Fuller's office. She is so worried about losing her job. So it is a little difficult for Jonny Lee Miller to really get into this blog. He sent Kristina Krofft an email. His mom and dad probably are still in Hawaii but the guilt is killing him. He was gonna call tonight after class, but guess what in his sleepiness he forgot his cell phone. Angelina Jolie came by the Hotel California to drop off his special class room key called a fob. Angelina wouldn't know what a fob is anyway. The people at the front desk thought he was there for an appointment. Rob Schneider told him to stay away from the front desk. This was the reason. But does the wife listen to the husband not usually. Jonny was going to email a long word document explaining his code to the guy he talked to from UC Davis yesterday. But he got sleepy and fell asleep instead. So tomorrow he will go back to the password program and dealing with his billing programming coworker Lea Thompson. At this point he is really sick of this clinical research data side and welcomes the change of working on c#. So come tomorrow a fresh start. Today was also an email to Jonny's cousin. He pretty much copy and pasted what he wrote to his mom. He could paste it in here but would have to add in the fake names. Phone. Angelina who else. Well that was a pointless phone call. Phone. Angelina again. She just remembered why she called. She wants Jonny to come home to help out on Thursday. She give lots of advance notice. At 10:30 today Penny, Jonny and a few other people had a meeting about the dreaded bioresource blood bank repository. Then he had lunch. Earlier he had breakfast. There must have been 30 emails in both directions about referrals. They don't have the data to extract this request. Too bad. Jonny really wanted to help. More system administration work to do too. He was just filing the emails just now. Because he came back from another meeting at 2PM. There was a meeting to discuss why or why not people would recommend other people to work here.

Jonny was listening to part of the Balak parsha yesterday. Balaam acts like a Jew. He says he will do this and that only if Hashem tells him to. But really he is wanting to change Hashem. And in that regard he is acting like a goy. This is the funniest parsha. There is humor in the Torah. A donkey turns around and yells at Balaam. Also in the parsha Jonny learns that Balak is only acting king. He is a temporary position for him. This is because it says in the parsha he was king at the time. Instead of just saying he was king. Speaking of funny Jonny is about 3 pages away from completing Serious Laughter. He is on page 146. He is on tape 3 of Rich Dad Poor Dad. These posts are getting ridiculously long. Ah one more time Jonny wants those people and you know who you are that move to Israel and then leave to know that Michael Rapaport and family have been in that country for a while now. They plan to stay.

Jonny tried to get somewhere with Dolly Parton today. He emailed her about the demographics and then followed up with a chat while she was heating up her food in the staff lounge. She is not gonna give up. This is exactly what Jonny and Penny want. Someone to hound Rob and his team to open up that network to outside Hotel California. Ahh Penny just walked out of the office. Enough people have walked by and looked over his shoulder. So Jonny is leaving the blog for today and the office too.

Cleaning up data

There are some typos in the names of the attending and residing physicians in the treatment summary data. So Jonny Lee Miller wrote an extensive SQL XML DOM program to clean up this data. The user interface is too slow. He is cleaning up 1000's of records. The program is not too fast either. It can clean 400 records in about 30 minutes. The company advised not to do too many at once.

Over in the next cube in Hollywood sits Lea Thompson. Lea works on billing but has agreed for the past several weeks not to bother Jonny to learn her stuff. Today he modified his demographics program to use the user name, server name, data base name, and passwords from an access database. The other programs that Lea has advised Jonny to write will use this technique.

On his MP3 player he is listening to this week's parsh Balak. Over the weekend he went to services. Funny thing about this week's parsha Chukat. The rabbi was there but not to deliver a sermon. Instead he was there as a yid. This is because it was his summer vacation 2 weeks.

Jonny just took a long lunch. He had a sandwich made of turkey at around 11:30. Then he went home. There he picked up Alberta Watson. Alberta wants Jonny her dad to buy a restaurant. They were listening to Rich Dad Poor Dad in the car. She wants the vacant land of Sal's Automotive to be the first step in the Miller empire. This is following the teachings of the rich buy assets.

Right now Jonny is drinking some nice Hollywood coffee. His cleanup program is running. He ran into a former defunct health insurance plan coworker today at Death Valley. The reason Jonny went home was to take Alberta to physical therapy. Julia Pearlstein was an operator. She slipped an fell in March. She was on crutches and said hi to Alberta and her dad in the waiting room today. Of course it wasn't until this moment that Jonny looked up her name in his excel spreadsheet that he remembered her real name. She is now working in desktop support, for the same huge department Jonny works for. Another employee of this department is Michael Rapaport. He and his wife Janeane Garofalo and four children live in Israel. Yet he still works here in Ann Arbor for desk top support too. Their daughter went to school with Alberta for 1st grade and the GAN. Then they moved. The girls have remained friends. They see each other every summer. They are staying near Stadium and Brockman which is very close to Jonny's house. That family has four people. They had a party Friday. Then the daughter slept over at Jonny's house. Alberta and Angelina Jolie drove to services. The rest of the family including the guest and Jonny, Jesse and Lorraine walked the 1+ mile. The Rapaport family is as Angelina calls them Shomar Shabbos, meaning they keep the sabbath. Literally it is a Yiddush-Hebrew phrase translated as watches/guards the day of rest. Therefore they use no electricity, no phones and no cars on Saturday. It would be too hard for Angelina to follow this. Their hosts don't follow it either and they guard Angelina's access to them. LOL. Get the joke? So Angelina is complaining about it and the hypocrisy.

Stream of Conscious

Conscious, hmm that word doesn't look spelled right. Jonny Lee Miller, is having extreme difficulty staying on one topic for more than 3 seconds. Sneeze. Sneeze. He spent several minutes adding the character Kevin Connolly to his cast of characters. It led to an expedition on I drink your milkshake. It turns out that Saturday Night Live skit, that Jonny just happened to see back in February was really a parody of a real movie. He thought it was a parody of food network type shows, that are on a different channel. What network is it that Angelina watches, it couldn't be the learning channel. Sounds to educated for her. Angelina got Kevin to loan her his backup backup generator. There was a power failure at the Miller home. It has been more than 12 hours and the 6 humus containers and 10 packages of cheese sticks and 10 packages of frozen chicken well you get the idea in the two refrigerators and one extra freezer that Kristina Kroftt thought was a refrigerator. An honest mistake. Wendell Pierce, her husband of 40+ years thought his DIL had about 5 too many mustards. But look on the bright side they don't need to be refrigerated. Drat that works kicks Jonny's butt every time. Last night Jonny discovered in his web exploits, twitter.

Spread the love

Jonny is up to page 186 of Love is the Killer App. Last night he called his brother. Richard Ziman also is a big fan of Rich Dad Poor Dad. Richard wants to know if Thomas Hill was the Rich Dad or the Poor Dad. He says that Kristina makes Wendell a bit of the poor dad. When Richard and Jonny's parents decide to retire, predicts Richard, they will be clueless. Well Jonny is only on the first tape and already has professed to Richard quite a bit of knowledge on the topic. Jonny predicts, based on Angelina's dad's conservative leanings that he is probably the poor dad. Jonny was surprised to connect with Richard last night for 15 minutes, because they haven't spoken since the day before the Bat Mitzvah. He called and Jonny said sorry I can't talk we are going to a rehearsal.

The parsha on the Friedman site seem to be under water. So the parsha about the chukat is almost unlistenable. A guy at work gave Jonny a book called Serious Laughter. After reading it he will try and sell it. Time for him to get that Amazon book selling back in place. Well now Jonny is done with admin work on the user interface. So he must get to making some Oracle views of the form data so he can pull patient protocol study information in MS-Access. And then export the information to Excel. He is still waiting for his online class certificate to come in the mail. Right now it is awkward, Penny is doing performance evaluations in her office one by one with her staff. Jonny's name keeps coming up too.
